what a ridiculous price for glen johnson
is it me or is 17million a bit to much for johnson, the most i would pay for him would be 12million at the most 10 or 11 million is a bit more realistic dont ya think. WE NEED A STRICKER TO HELP TORRES FOR GOD SAKE!!!!!!!!!

17million!!! the mind boggles...

17 mil is expensive if u count it for last season....but after real madrid and mancity killing the market....17 mil for one of regular started for england is not bad at all...benitez seem to realize now that he need more local talend to make better squad on pitch and dreasing room...

£17 million used to be a lot but it would appear transfers are recession proof and remember its a world marketplace and the pound is on its knees, £17M is worth what £13M was last year on the world markets. For Johnson I understand there where at least two higher bidders (in the region of £19M) but Johnson's preference was LFC. Liverpool need more English players for the Champions League future quota scheme. Glen was pushing for goal of the season last year, has two good feet and can play just about anywhere on the pitch (not sure what he's like in goal though!), £17M- good price for the 24 year old England right back.

english players do command extra, hence 17 million rather than 12.
i do agree that we need a striker, to either partner or provide back-up for torres
