Liverpool Message Board
I’ve been an Arsenal fan for 25 years, but I’m not on here to slam you over last nights result. In fact I’m writing to applaud your fans. Last night was a good night for us, there’s no denying that, but we were helped by an “interesting” team selection, and at least one dubious refing decision.
I’ve always had a healthy respect for Liverpool and their accomplishments. So much so, I felt it necessary to post my first blog.
The way you guys, and gals, supported your team last night was top drawer. Being a Gooner I know what it’s like seeing your team under perform, West Ham, Sheffield Utd etc. The frustration, when you’re used to such high standards, can have you tearing your hair out.
This week you went out of two cups, but the manner in which you got behind your team made me hope fans around the world were watching. Truly excellent fanage (new word), and the blogs of good luck posted on the Arsenal board from Liverpool fan show your class.
But before you start sledging Rafa you have to remember, you’re 3rd in a league that is far from a level playing field. Man Utd have always had loads of financial clout, and as for Chelsea, nuff said. Staying competitive is becoming increasingly difficult. Maybe it’s too soon to talk about axing Rafa, and there are lessons to be learnt from every defeat. Perhaps last nights result will be a blessing in disguise!?
In Wenger we trust, despite our start to this season and AWs constant re-jiging of our squad over the years has left me wondering at times. But football is a long term game, and success is built on solid foundations. Your perseverance, not in Evans proportions, could reap rewards. More competitive clubs can only be a good thing for English football.
You stay classy San Diego.
