Seeing as how we have a jam packed schedule, along with the entire league mind you, if we draw or even perhaps lose at in form table topping Rovers, going into the semi vs Everton, will we be:
"A wee bit tired"
"A wee bit unlucky"
If we win at Rovers the question recycles itself for after the match at Wembley..
I DO EXPECT to win both, so we shouldn't hear either
'I do expect us to win both'
Admire your optimism. It's a reflection of our p1ss poor league form this year, especially against the lower teams, that has seen mine all but evaporate. I just want this shocking league season to end.
Blackburn on their patch are NEVER easy. Took United almost 80 minutes to unlock their defence recently, and they could easily have leaked one through a number of threatening counter-attacks. The confidence of our boys is at a shockingly low ebb, and as you've pointed out Blackburn are on a bit of a high. It's at a stage now where I think a point from that game would be a good result. Which is a sad reflection of our league season.
And I soooo wish the excuse making would stop. Sure some of our players may be tired, it happens to all squads. But is drawing attention to the fact necessary?
Everton I think have a right to be feeling pretty confident going into the semi, regardless of our Blackburn result. We did them at Anfield recently, but a cup final at Wembley is a different ball game. Both teams will be up for it, it'll be game on.
Regarding player fitness..
1. either our plsyers genuinely aren't fit enough..
2. it's glaringly we just don't have enough quality in depth.
We should be able to switch and change players around and have no upset to team performance.
Yet we haven't got that yet so if we are overusing players than that shows to me we desperately need a big influx of quality players..
Sure we could have depth in the team but if those players are only average then little wonder our performances have lacked all season..
If the team was set up right we wouldn't be concerned about who plays and who doesn't as we'd have a consistent performance throughout the season wouldn't we?
Seems now we're gonna have to rest certain players so they'll be in the F.A Cup.. Yet our league position could well slip further?
I agree with Loki on this one. Yes players will be tired but I recon will be well up for the games. Any individual who stinks it up tomorrow knows they may miss out on the semi final. Anyone who stinks it up in the remaining league games know, assuming we win on Saturday, they may not get a trip to Wembley again this season.
Hopefully luck won't be an issue, but can it really get much worse? I also hope we don't have to be talking about the ref either, which left me fuming Saturday, although its not only us impacted which is little comfort.
Actually my biggest concern is do we have a full and healthy squad. It was good to see Agger back who I think we've really missed, but I'd really like to see either Johnson and or Kelly back to feel comfortable.
Trust me Jason, nobody is going to be tired for the Rovers game (or using that as an excuse), they will all be pulling their tripe out to get on the teamsheet at Wembley. When we win the semi, then the remaining league games will be similar, because they will all want to play in the final as well.

LOKI JASON DAVE...good thread this one...speaking of tripe dont u agree what a load of tripe it all is this talk about the FA CUP being a downgraded competition that few Prem sides have any interest in ?
No.1. cant imagine any Prem side drawn against a non league side in whatever round would relish being knocked out of competition by them , either home or away ?
No.2 we constantly here when it gets to the Semis that players are scared of giving it their all in the League in case of injury, thats teams with no chance at top 4 spot or in danger of drop. So quite clearly players themselves dont see it as a devalued competition.
No.3 think most players place high priority on the honour of receiving a winners medal in FA CUP FINAL at Wembley.
Its got to be most romantic of all footballs knock out competitions ...this due to no second chances unkike in Carling Cup ECLC Euro League etc...literally its often down to the luck of the draw how far u can go and that applies to top 4 teams too !!! Cant imagine all the doomsayers on this board wouldnt want to be in possession of a CUP FINAL TICKET were we to be facing either Spurs or Chelski in Final...cant imagine theyd be there in a group together chanting SACK DALGLISH SACK DALGLISH just before the kick off can u ?
