I'd agree with that, and think balance is the key element here. With strong full backs on both sides, and the confidence the entire squad gets from Lucas in the center we look more potent from many parts of the pitch, meaning an opponent can't just mark Suarez out of the game and assume they've taken care of us. I'd also throw Downing in there as well; who I think has to be the most improved player of the season when you compare where he was this time last season.
But we've still got a long way to go before we're where we need to be, but I agree it is significant progress in the right direction. With steady improvements from some in the existing squad, especially those who have recently broken into the first team squad or even the starting 11, plus recruitment of a few select quality players for key positions, and I think we'll be ready to assault the top 4 next season.
