For what it's worth, I would play the Allen in the middle with Suarez up top on his own and Gerrard in support. Bale is playing a free role in behind the striker and I reckon we'll need two holding mids to stop him. Sturridge can be called on as a plan B if they go ahead.
IF Sturridge isn't fully fit then I agree that we throw Hendo or Allen in the mix, I would rather have Sturridge up there though as it will cause Spurs' high line all sorts of trouble if they carry on playing that way.

Think that is the key, the fitness of Sturridge. If he's fit and from training is in form, he has to start which means either Suarez has to go wide or drop into the hole. With both Downing and Coutinho in top form I think it’s most likely he lines up behind Daniel, in which case its Gerrard and Lucas holding the center.
But if its felt Sturridge is only strong enough to be an impact player off the bench I'd go with basically the same line up we saw against Wigan, with Lucas and Allen holding and Stevie in front of them. Seems to me the best way to keep Bale quiet is to just not let him have the ball, and while some may not like the pretty short passes, if we have the ball, Spurs don't, and they can't hurt us till they get the ball.
