David Cross - All Our Yesterdays
Does anybody out there remember David Cross? Tall, gangly centre forward. I recall driving up to watch Hammers in action at, I think, Blackburn. We had a corner, with Hammers attacking our end. Somebody threw a can of lager (I think) onto the pitch. Crossy picked it up, made sure it was lager, took a swig, and threw it back!
Going to Arsenal in the cup. Taylor gets 2. We all got soaked at the clock end.
Semi. Taylor again gets 2. Final he did it again. Absolutley legless after the match. Got home in time to watch highlights next day.
Watching Clyde Best being assaulted by a woman who went after him with her umbrella.
Happy days. Wonder if they will ever return.
