Good player and he and Kompany's partnership were the key last season. Nastasic is an excellent player but the understanding with Kompany is just not the same. He is a very much left footed, LCB so doubt it would work with Agger. Isnt it funny how 2 right footed centre halves are fine but 2 left footers seem weird? My guess is he is going to Arsenal this summer with Vermaelen heading to the Nou Camp, great value though!

May be is because of playing in different leagues. Spanish teams give Barca too much respect. He was not going to afford a quarter of the in the premier league.

And who the "F" asked you coffee face?

Colin, I don't believe I mentioned any amount of money for Carroll. The difference between Torres and Carroll is that Torres did the biz for us and Carroll hasn't. I have seen every game Carroll has played for us at home and the fact is he has been impressive about 3 times - that's it. He has no consistency. You talk about him being a plan B, how long do you think he would accept being on the bench? Never! Better to get rid of an unhappy player than have him hang around like a festering wound. We need mobile technical players, I do think we need more muscle definitely, but that must be allied to the attributes that Carroll does not possess.

Lady and Gents, Sadley I have to agree with you,
I think the Chavs will take 3rd witht he goons taking 4th.
IMO if we fail to finish 4th it will not bedue to AVB, although if he tries too many more fanciful lineups, he will certainly have to take some of the blame. I think JL is right, bar the Fulham game we haven't played badly, yet the results haven't come. If we fail to get top 4, I think Levy will need to take a look at himself, as he has prevented a couple of signings.

But if Nando had stayed and played for Kenny with Luis alongside him, do you think Rodgers would have been brought in at all??????? Tough call..........not

If Wise Son is on holiday in Australia and still posting on the boards night and day, this proves one thing, that he's even more of a sad case than I originally thought he was!

Again with Coffee Face? The more and more I read about the Joe Allen injury and surgery, obviously more is revealed, and in that, I'm really disappointed that they (Rodgers & Allen/Medical team and whoever else) did not address this sooner, because with injuries, sometimes you have to take a calculated gamble, but the facts reveal this was one not worth it..
To read Rodgers commet: "to touch Allen's shoulder alone (near the end up to surgery) could have broken it", is a baffling statement to make, and I think it's the biggest mistake he's made to date by a long shot. Allen was very, very good in the early season, winning our player of the month (twice I think?), even a stand out to me at the Olympics for team GB, but his form became absolutely dreadful, and obviously this would be the reason why. If it was that bad, medically speaking, not only could he have broken it in right in a match, but he could have damaged himself long term, injured his career and possibly caused a never ending personal issue.. Furthermore, saying this, is a mistake by Rodgers for me, and a bad one, because hiding an injury and revealing it later when things go good, or fall just short of something great, make it a brave thing, but seeing how bad he was aside from the Zenit game, makes you realize what bad judgement was made. At the end of the day, it could have been Joe's decision, and that's the way today's athletes are, at least here in the states and we accept that, BUT, I find it hard to believe that his form was so superb in training, despite the injury, to outperform Henderson who was doing a nice job, and Shelvey who looks flat out angry when he's not playing..
If Lucas was also that badly injured, and only on the bench as an emergency, then why start either of them, and not play both of Jordan and Jonjo, or tweak it somewhere else to get in Sterling or Suso?
There is no 20/20 hindsight here.. And reading all the facts now, makes me very disappointed. Overall, I think Rodgers is doing a good job with all things considered, but he's made mistakes, and if playing Allen all this time, in such poor health is the case, he could have cost 2-3-4 games where we might have done better in the middle with someone else. This is a mistake I think/hope we never ever have to learn the hard way again.. I'm very disappointed with the facts, but looking forward to the weekend! -

Jason...Ive been posting up my suspicions about Rogers and his playing his fave-boy from Swansea for quite some time, before it was revealed he had this shoulder injury. Even he hadnt had the shoulder injury his shockingly bad form should not have even earned him a spot on the bench let alone starting him...too right it was a huge mistake by Rogers...in my book another huge mistake to add to plenty of others hes made since his arrival. He is making all these mistakes while he learns his trade as a manager he should have been making his mistakes and learning his trade elsewhere we are too big a club to put up with his apprenticeship ..we should have brought someone with proven experience in to manage our club a journeyman not an apprentice.

“Absolutely awful. Paints the North East as trash,” one member of the public wrote on The Shields Gazette’s facebook page. “You can’t seriously tell my they didn’t watch it and cringe too. The person who produced the show must hate us up here, to portray us like that.”
“It was even worse than I imagined it would be. Geordie/North East folk have been made a laughing stock,” said another.
One Northern viewer even explained that the show had pushed them to the edge of self-harm. “It made me want to both claw out my eyes and poke things in my ears,” she said.
“It was enough to make most Geordies want to distance themselves from Newcastle and to make the rest of us want to distance ourselves from humanity,”
Geordies .... the LAUGHING STOCK of England!!

His wages are around 90K.. BUT, he was quoted in saying to a friend, through a Spanish medium ( I can read it ) that he has no problem taking a wage reduction and is very keen to return to England. He played it coy about being Liverpool, and said one of those "in football anything can happen" meaning another club, but he's also said he (which we all know) is a LFC lover, raises his children to be Reds fans, and Scousers of sorts. I believe, and it can be found, he's getting close to his last 12 months.. I think it's up in 2014.. So, with Joselina going to Chelski, I cannot see Xabi wanting to follow there unlike his buddy #9, and if he feels the new manager isn't right, or the chance is there to come "home", I think it will become a very serious option.
Rodgers has said he wants quality, not quantity, this summer, and even more so, he wants some experience. Pair the fact with Madrid probably (despite being corrupt) having to trim some pretty ridiculous wages, while still spending, and the big quoted rumor, which breaks my heart, is that they will pay around 60M Euros for Cavani this summer - per his father in Italian (translated for me by neighbor), making for several expendible players/wages.
If we can get our main 3-4 top targets, and work a deal with cash left, Xabi is an absolutely real possibility.
And regards to Sow.. 2 years ago he was at Lille who won the French Ligue in a squad that had Hazard, Cole and 1-2 others who left, and he had a choice of Liverpool and Fenerbache.. That's all you really need to know. His goal tally is good, but not for the competition and his age. If there was a player from Turkey that issued a "come and get me" that we really blew it on, but could still have, it's Arda Turan now at Atletico, open to a prem move. But regards to Sow, no for me, and instead let's have a go at Benteke! He is absolutely a star in the making and only 21 years old.. Plus he likes to score against us.. -
Well Mr. Warnock gone at last and not before time, need to get manager in quick now to avoid the drop, Mick mcarthy would do nicely or chris Hughton and bring snoddy and howson back!
