Jenson Button is in for his greatest season next year. I think having someone of Barricelo's stature alongside him will help him to push the car even harder as he will have some real competition in his own team.

First win in 2006, here we come.

    Future World Champ.

I can't remember for sure, but didn't Savage throw his dolly out of the pram and say that he wouldn't be playing for Wales anymore? If he would play then I'd like to see him in the team, even though he is a bit of a scrapper!

Haven't thought much of Greening this season, but then who else does his job of consistantly crossing the ball? Kamara could do with learning how.
I think Inamoto could use a DVD on tracking back and putting in tackles Koumas style.
I would be reasonably happy with the Koumas <-> Jerome swap.

I must agree with the chairman finally getting rid of Robson, but was the timing right? There is a total lack of managerial quality available at present. Can anyone seriously ever see Curbishley coming to us? He`s waiting for the Spurs job. What about taking a chance on Alex Mcleish? He did`nt do much wrong in Scotland on a limited budget.

Only one more get up till the season starts !!! Lets get behind our boys and start this campaign off with the best support in the league ! True, we could do with another striker, but lets support the ones we have ! I went up against Real Sociedad and we played some good stuff, but the muppet fans were still having a go at Ellington. For gods sake, he plays for us !!! Lets try to give him some confidence, all he needs is a goal or two and he'll be off !
So COME ON YOU BAGGIES, BRING IT ON !!!

    Davis to a London club/Man U
    Ellington to Crystal Palace/Wolves
Wallwark - Norwich/Derby -both need a few less goals against
    Watson - Norwich/QPR

Although I feel verry sorry for any professional who has his career cut short Gaardsoe was at best average. I think Curtis is a much better footballer even if he is prone to a few mistakes and hoofing the ball away.
Gaaedsoe always looked like he must be cold, pulling shirts off the other team to try and warm himself. Maybe the injury robbed him of his pace but he still didn't play football. I never once saw/went to a match where I thought he was the best player, though not always the worst.
All the same good luck to him in the future, he may come back as an Albion manager one day.

I guess from your comment (pbwootton) that you've slipped onto this message board from dingle land. If you read the messages (assuming you can read) you will realise that not many of us have a problem with melton. As for overachieving, all we need to do is get our away form sorted. That will start at Leeds and continue in your own back yard a week on Sunday.

Boing, boing - can we play you every week

Peace want 4mil for Ellington because we want the former Hibs striker and now Lokamotiv Moscow striker Gary O'Connor who they want 3.9 million for. What has happened to Quashie's transfer cash already?? That plus Ellington for 3mil makes West Brom a quality striker? Maybe he has another transfer target but I hope something gets sorted soon.

By way of defence all I can say is its a surprise to hear that element weren't booing our own players for a change. Probably a heat of the moment thing.

If the only negative point is that a expensive player (for us) has decided to play for a change, I can only see that as a good thing on the whole. Also I thought Gera looked lively too, maybe he's thinking shop window. Great to see Jared Hodgkiss on too, committed player all season, nice to see for a change.

Did anyone see Koren's goal really well, on the TV it was hard to tell whether it was his back foot he scored with or if it was a flick off the side of his front foot. Either way I was impressed. Great first goal for the club. Still say he's our best buy of the past few seasons.

Well I've just read McCarthy's views on the game and for the first time this season I think he's talking through his ring piece!! was he at the same game....I think he's actually starting to believe HE is a Dingle too!! blaming the loss of Murray on losing....even he wouldn't have stopped any of our three goals,if it wasn't for the ref and/or the linesman not giving offside for their second goal...and it was clearly offside on the replays! and Sodje not getting his head in when it counted the Dingles would have had what they deserved from the game.....NOTHING!!!

Too right and thanks.. There have been high expectations of the Baggies all season, not least because we have good players for our current league. like the fans though, you just can't keep a Baggy down for long.. The prospect of facing another 40 Championship matches is one that Derby players will probably be more willing than ours to accept and at the end of the day, although it's all down to 90 minutes and a bit of luck, you make your own luck don't you?
We will be determined to win and do it in style.
(So long as we keep calm once ahead)
    Thanks for the msg mate!

What is it with the strikers @ the albion?? why can they score loads for anyone else??
Hartson...scored loads for Celtic..couldnt hit a barn door for us.
Ellington...useless for us, yet 2nd highest scorin player in his last yr @ wigan.
Phillips...has scored loads but looks lost for us.
And look @ players that have gone...
Kanu...scorin loads for pompey, why couldnt her for us?
Jason Roberts...waste of time yet scored loads for Wigan in his 1st year there
Ernshaw..(granted not given much ov a chance)..but again free-scorin for norwich.
I look back at all the years and i dont think we`ve had a good strike partnership since Andy Hunt n Bob Taylor!!!!

Wot on earth is the problem? even under diff managers its the same problem...why???

I agree with you once again Clive!,we were the better side and probably we did try to over elaborate, but I can't get used to the feeling we were cheated out of it by Baros and his constant use of his hands and arms to control the ball,if Howard Webb had used his authority properly and to the letter of the law like we have been on the receiving end of a lot recently Baros would have been off the pitch before half-time!,but as Kev Phillips said he and the linesman bottled it and chose to look the other way............

Lets just re-iterate the points regarding the three players that have been released: -

Martin A: - Was never going to command a regular place, he is not rated by Mowbray and after watching his performances last year he will be no great loss.

Z Gera: - Was offered champions league football by both turkish teams and also italian football by Roma, turned them all down to go to fulham where he will pick up £35,000 a week!! He went for the money, plain and simple, if the guy had any ambition in football he would have gone somewhere to prove himself against the best players in the world.

K Phillips: - Is 34 Years old, will be 35 come start of season. Was HUGELY disappointing in his last stint at the big stage 3 years ago, was never going to become a coach as he has already stated his intention to leave football once his career is finished. Was offered £20,000 a week by WBA on a one year contract with an additional contract to follow after 19 appearances. Turned it down to accept £24,000 a week on a two year deal @ Blues. Shows how much he values his own chances of actually playing in 19 games if he was worried about completing the minimum number required to activate the clause in his contract. That being the case do you really want an unhappy 35 year old on £20,000 a week?

Mowbray and Peace have been spot on for me.

They have purchased the Porto Left Back for under 1.5M (The right back went to chelsea for 16.4M!!) They have brought an england GK, we need one more striker and we'll be ready.

    Trust in Tony
