Oh lookie what the cat dragged in!
You feeling brave all of a sudden? Been allowed a sip of Babycham have we?
Still hiding behind your Piggy I'd I see. Oh I would never know it was a glory boy in a million years!
I think you can stick RVP on that list too and Fabregas had his troubles as I recall. I would argue that no club would be able to sustain competition with players of that quality unavailable. Diaby,RVP and Fabregas were the backbone of the squad assembled by Wenger to lead us through the lean financial years. I recall Wenger stating that he was happy with the squad in years gone by and that he would only add players of top quality. He did this too with the likes of Nasri and Arshavin, the latter was a massive let down as we all know.
I recall Arsenal leading the Prem and looking to be odds on champions only to suffer an obscene spate of injuries, 13 players sidelined.
The stage changed hugely when Chelski and then City began buying success and Arsenal could not compete financially, being outbid on notable targets. I think noises were made with regards to this situation from within the club too. That said, I agree the club perhaps should have made the situation regarding the funding it had available clearer though it may have been decided that such statements may have had a negative affect on the clubs interests.
"If he stays healthy they could well qualify for CL football" ?
Are you having a laugh, Govinda?
Man U's squad is inferior to all the teams above them including Man City's and Spurs'. Just can't see them finishing the season above any of the aforementioned sides. In all honesty, Europa League is their forte next season unless Moyes strengthen his squad with at least 3-4 top top class signings in January which won't happen - they are skint.
"In your first post, you posted as an Arsenal fan and yet now you post at a Utd fan."
It was a joke, as I had already being called a clone on the United board, I have since changed my ID to avoid any future confusion.
"Stats don't win games, but they do show who was having the run of it"
No they don't, they show stats, that's all, no neutral watching the game would have claimed Arsenal were the better side, or had the 'run' of the game.
Hey Colyn / Paddy,
You still can't wipe the smile off my face.. quite honestly, other than the 4-1 at OT, and the 5-0 v Madrid, albeit not quite the same level, though it was for me, I can't remember a better performance in a big game. Spuds was big, because if we'd lost, we'd be 5th!!!
Anyhow, on another sidenote, Alberto has quietly been getting in more, and got almost 25 mins yesterday in the 10 spot, and picked up 2 assists!! I think only 1 will register, but all the same, and our other S-a-S, Skrtel and Sakho looked as solid and assured as our CBs as long as I can remember..
With all the experience Flannagan, and Sterling are getting now, with Coutinho racking up quality performance, and now Allen showing his true value, we can only get better, especially come January and whatever we do.
For me, while our corners, and a few free kicks really suffered without Gerrard, it was a blessing in disguise because our midfield was fast, aggressive, dynamic, and when Gerrard comes back, he can take over for Lucas, who for me, just still wasn't at the races, and seems to be fading like an old player, sadly to say. He loves Liverpool, Liverpool loves him, but if not for a few lunging clearances, or the occasional sweep the ball out of bounds, he just really isn't up to it. Allen and Jordan made Sandro/Paulino look stupid.. And Gerrard can tackle, run, jump, and certainly pass a heck of a lot better than Lucas.
But, I don't want to be too critical, it was an absolute masterpiece, and the best under BR, who played all down as if it was a 1-0 scoreline.. Class!
I hear that they are fitting Young with wings, this weekend. They don't want him breaking his neck diving from 6 feet outside the penalty area, to land 6 feet inside the area.
Watched the game on Sky, and must say I was impressed with today's performance. Austin was magnificent and the team played as one for a change.
Smith looked knackered at the end and may need to improve his fitness, but you couldn't really fault anyone.
I like the idea of playing 3 centre backs which seemed to help the defence, but having said that Birmingham were poor in the first half. We may still struggle against the better teams, but you can see some light ahead.
Pleased for you, Al, as Pools seem to9 be getting it together now!
There's no point Rikk...

Typical slayer, riding on someone else's shirtlifter-tails. There's not an original bone in your body, whether it's copying and pasting someone else's work and claiming it as your own, (remember Robert?), or Googling your opinions.
I have a very good reason for not posting here, and it has nothing to do with Manchester United or Arsenal, it also has nothing to do with you.
So carry on licking Pixie's backside, you'll both enjoy it.
Bit quiet in here isn't it?
Is that because you lot have nothing to brag about?
Or have you all went off and bought Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester City shirts instead?
