Before I start, I admit that I am still not convinced by AVB, so my comments are biased.
I really think that AVB is walking a dodgy line by having a go at the fans. I am still quite happy to give the man at least til the end of the season, but so far, the football we have been playing (IMHO) since he took over has been somewhat lacking for me. I can't deny that he's been getting results, but I'm not sure that simply getting results is what 'fans' in general are after. We seem slow in moving the ball and lacking in movement - loads of possession (which you'd expect with quality players) - but a lack of focus.
I also know that a lot of the playing staff has changed and players take time to settle, but I had hoped that by now we would have been playing with a bit more flair and panache - even with just using the 'old' players.
What also concerns me is that I thought this season, with the changes at Chelsea, City and Utd - and with Pool and the Woolwich bunch still not quite the finished article, that we could have steadily improved and pushed on - and had that chance as the other 'top' teams were also in transition. But then we go out and spend stupid money on a whole raft of players, which then gives AVB the issue of working out his best 11 - which has the inevitable impact of slowing down the development of a particular 'style' (do you play Townsend or Lamela, Holtby or Eriksen, Sandro or Dembele, Lemmon or Chadli, Capoue or...which centre back pairing? Who at left back? Do we need Rose and Walker for the style to gel?......match any 10 issues from 100 combinations).
I still don't think that spending the Bale cash on a raft of players was sensible without having a target plan. I personally prefer the 'see an issue and fix' type approach.
I will end by then saying though, that I am also not certain that AVB is the problem - I am still at a loss as to who is the person who sources and buys the players - was it a Levy/Baldninny thing to spend the money - and was
Yeah I fancy a WBA c/s too (with Billy Jones), so Myhill looks okay, although if Palace do score I hope to god it's Joel Ward who gets it!!! lol... he's been close last 2 games. Erm, Taylor's out v Chelsea, so maybe go for Yanga or Williamson? Both a tad cheaper than Taylor, although Kolo looks as good(if not better) as either of those tbh.
Am I the only one not touching Kun this week? lol... gl
Soldado looks fed up and who can blame him. We are currently playing with two wingers - no problem with that per se, but we have a right footed winger playing on the left and a left footed winger playing on the right. This is ok for the odd occasion that they cut inside (as Townsend does regularly) and has a shot (Lennon does this quite rarely) but when the full back shows them down the line there is no end result i.e. a cross because they don't feel comfortable kicking the ball with the wrong foot, or, if they do attempt it, it is not usually a quality cross anyway. This results in them cutting back and playing a short pass back or inside.
The cycle then begins again with us trying to force a move through the middle in a congested area full of midfielders and centre backs. One of our great successes last year was our ability to break with speed, get a cross in and score. Now, we are not breaking as quickly with wingers who are trying almost every time to come inside and shoot - a skill which, unlike Bale, they are struggling with.
AVB is sticking with the lone striker which means we usually only have one striker in the box at any one time. If the system is right and working, this is fine but with the wingers on the wrong wings no crosses are coming in and no chances created. This cannot go on forever. Our lack of chances and consequent lack of goals will cost us time and time again.
AVB has to decide what he wants - two wrong sided wingers, a low chance created record and a fingers crossed high conversion rate and one frustrated striker OR one winger swapping sides, two wingers playing on their stronger foot, two strikers in the box with one midfielder being sacrificed.
One thing is shining out loud and clear - to me anyway - the current formation and system is not working.
Big...no scrap that. HUGE challenge tonight.
There are few better teams in the CL that can turn defence into attack as effectively as Dortmund can. You have to give Klopp credit for that.
We have however managed to turn over a result against Bayern, who are recognised as being better than Dortmund.
We have to control the midfield tonight and defend properly. Break up their play as much as possible, and do to them, what they did to us. Hit them on the break.
It is achievable, but it isn't going to be easy.
1 - 2 to us?
Your all hate him and yet dont realise your all mini piers morgans. Called for wengers head and ramseys sale and now hes giving it the biggun again. United do what they always do, keep their heads. This is a marathon not a sprint, and were are the Haile Gebrselassie of football teams, your are more like a darren campbell of sprinters lol.

I made a total of 181 points in week 11 but i was given 64 points, this is outrageous and un acceptable, something must be done. who can help bcos its affecting my league position
Hello everyone, i have a league with an extra challenge, enter a team, you are allowed up to eight footballers out of fifteen in your team that are foreign including subs, the rest must be from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or Ireland. The reason for this is because i think if this was introduced in the Premier League then the England, Scotland and Wales teams would improve.
If you want to join you wont lose any of your points that you have accumulated so far, they will still be valid in this league. If you want the challenge it is Group ID (12458) password (541flwl)
Please join (as long as you do not mind that i am a Manchester City fan!)
I will be checking to see that you are following the rules though and if i see more than eight foreign footballers in someones team they might be kicked out!
OK, let's try to decipher this pathetic mish-mash of tear jerking excuses.
The first part starts with a quotation mark, but is so obviously not a quote that it's hilarious to think this fool could imagine we wouldn't notice.
But let's get to the really hilarious part, the part that shows this fool knows nothing about Arsenal, as well as knowing nothing about football.
"against a side that had four main men out, plus two more in Mertsecker and Rosicky"
So Arsenal had SIX "main men" missing, please, indulge us, and name the full team you would have fielded, including those SIX.
Just in case you weren't aware, these are the players in Sunday's squad, minus the SIX.
"As for Van Persie, the measure of the mans decency, & respect for a team that cared for him, for so long injured, can be measured in his celebration at scoring"
The Arsenal supporters were BOOING him!
Do you live on a hill. Baldrick/Dodge? It just seems apt, "The Fool On The Hill."
We're well used to Pixie's eight year yawn of an excuse for Arsenal failing to win anything since the early 17th century,' injuries', and this week he nearly won the 'Worst Excuse of the Week' award for claiming that Arsenal LOSING to United was PROOF that they, Arsenal, are the better team.
I say nearly, because Mr D A Banana beat him to it, by a country mile!
This is what he claimed ... "... against a side that had four main men out, plus two more in Mertsecker and Rosicky."
Get that? SIX 'main men' missing from the side that lost to United, SIX!
So I challenged Mr D A Banana to name the SIX, and to post a team-sheet including the SIX, as he would have played them.
I also reminded him of the players that were in the squad, to give him a guide.
W Szczesny, B. Sagna, L. Koscielny, T. Vermaelen, K. Gibbs, M. Flamini
J. Wilshere, M. Arteta, A. Ramsey, M. Özil, S. Cazorla, O. Giroud
N. Bendtner, L. Fabianski, N. Monreal, C. Jenkinson, S. Gnabry, I. Hayden
We are, of course, waiting for a reply that will never come, because Mr B A Banana knows as much about football, and Arsenal, as he knows about stopping his hair from falling out.
So, step forward Mr B A Banana, and collect your award .... 'Worst Excuse of the Week', and probably a contender, come next May, of the 'Worst Excuse of the Season' award.
Congratulations, you thoroughly deserve it.

Lets see who you've beaten in the league:-
Apart from us,
Stoke - We beat them too.
Fulham - We beat them too.
Sunderland - We beat them too.
Crystal palace - We beat them too.
Swansea - We beat them too.
Who have you drawn
Chelsea - We have yet to play them.
Southampton - We will find out this weekend.
Who has beaten you?
City - We have yet to play them.
WBA - We got a draw against them.
Liverpool - We beat them.
I don't give excuses, but it appears at present, we have played a similar range of teams.
Losing three of the last six is of no consequence when you consider you lost three in six in September. And they were all League Games.
