Fulham Message Board
So, Rodgers has been reading our messages Colyn, Paddy, and Loki.. shame the others are missing or in hibernation, as this is really quite an achievement!
I think we all vehemently agreed as I've been harping that it's time for Lucas to go, and Allen to get minutes to do something, and keep Jordan in the midfield, while playing with 2 wide players.
Yes it was Norwich, yes Suarez loves them and so do our players, but our midfield was much more tidy for the most part, you got a lot more possession / less giveaways, with Jordan and Allen grinding in there, and while Agger is a walking mistake, he's a better partner to our unquestioned best defender, Skrtel..
May have been a nice header, but once again, a set piece, and Agger losing his marker via falling down or a shirt pull or whatever. Would be nice to just keep a clean sheet one of these days.. I find it hard to believe that Mertesacker and Koscielny are more talented or stronger than Agger, but he just proves me wrong, and those who are enamored by him over the machine #37..
Anyways +4 goals made up, and still in the top 4, with some big collisions for others coming, and maybe we're finding a top gear, with Alberto having gotten minutes, and Allen settling! YNWA
Good points there Jason although your view of the game was more optimistic than mine. I thought we could have played until next season and not scored. We were that flat and lacked any ability to hold possession, press and probe. Even when Newcastle were down to 10. Before that we were completely outdone in midfield with Cabaye proving a real handful. Neither Gerrard or Henderson got near him or Arfa. When in possession we had no outlet.
Having given it yet more thought I'm not convinced by the 5 at the back. We become too static, unable to retain possession and very easy to play against.
Despite having the numbers we lack quality in midfield, we seriously need Coutinho back. We also need to get Alberto up to speed. Moses as far as I'm concerned can go back to Chelsea. Aspas also needs to pull his finger out and provide a worthwhile option. I'll also say the same for Allen. We need quality and movement in the middle and right now and we are seriously lacking there. To me it really stands out like a sore thumb. I include Gerrard in that criticism. Fine given time and space but really needs to get on his bike and offer himself more than he does. He's far too static or just somewhere unavailable. I'd also say that Lucas too. Fine just sitting there and being disruptive when not in possession but when we have it he needs to really keep thing sticking over. He needs to improve that to his game despite having a very high pass rate and pass success rate. It's all in the wrong areas.
Or green if you will.. Normally you can't make heads or tails of the colors the players are wearing in training, however, in today's training pictures on LFC, every one of our normal, or preferred first 9 are in yellow, 10 including Agger (Migs gets the purple)..
What does this mean? Maybe nothing, but for me, I think that with us lacking quality in the middle, and Sakho not quite fully adapted, or as good on the ball, perhaps Agger will resume his spot at LCB. What I can't tell, or guess is if it means a flat back 4, but considering Stevie, Lucas, Henderson and Coutinho were also in yellow/green, along with Sturridge and Suarez, that means 2 men are out, and they appear Sakho and Toure, esp since Glenda is fit again, and also in yellow.
I'll be very happy to see a back flat 4, because while I've seen it work to devastating effect in Italy with Napoli and some other sides, and certainly a place and time for us, 4 at the back is our best way to set up the attacking outfield players, and give two solid CBs the chance to play it out of the back, where Toure certainly cannot, and Sakho not comfortably yet.. (Both wearing orange, with Moses, Alberto, Allen etc)
Hoping for a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 with Coutinho/Suarez/Henderson in the advanced CAM role.. Let's hope!
I don't think it's a case of 'over achieving' at all, more a case of playing to their capabilities. Arsenal lost to City, on their own ground where they are in great form. It was expected. I think on another day Arsenal could have won that game. Our defence was sloppy as was the midfield and that is asking for trouble against any top side.
Arsenal were judged wrongly offside at least three times when in great positions, one where a goal had been scored.
The pundits will rip into Arsenal over this, as they always do to any of the top teams when they falter, but to judge the team on one tough fixture at the end of one very tough week is foolish in the extreme, IMO.
If you fancy a few goals in the Swans v Toffees game, then maybe one of the Everton wide men? Or even Michu?
Or if City can start scoring away, Yaya is always a threat, and he's taking the penalties now. Plenty of choice with 14.5 bud.

Mr MCM etc.... (I agree 1999 was a great year but on reflection….can I just rename you “Mr 99” ?…it’s much shorter…and you do seem to be a little drippy and pretty much a complete flake )
"And why the sudden niceties, Rikk?"...
…I’m lead to believe that English isn’t your primary language and I’ll make allowances…but which part of “I am not Rikk” are you struggling to understand…?
...is it a cultural issue that makes you incapable of accepting that I am female…with my own mind and my own agenda…and not afraid to speak for myself…?...are you some sort of conceited, foul mouthed patriarch…?
…my “niceties” are not at all sudden…you and others have been invited elsewhere to view my one and only post history…which is incomplete as it shows only this Yahoo UK forum…but there’s enough there for anyone with half a brain to know who I am and am not…..do you admit to having less than half a brain...?
…I must apologise for forgetting that when I said to Mr Dodge that any fool could see that I'm not "Rikk"… that Mr Dodge is only one of several fools on this board...I should have known that you might feel left out and would just HAVE to jump on the bandwagon…such a needy little man…
…”so cut the 'Mr This, and Sir That' b0ll0ck5”…as usual Mr 99…you embellish on the truth…(translation available on request)…I have never called anyone “Sir” on this board or anywhere else…is that wishful thinking from a foul mouthed, ineffective, little nobody, would-be patriarch…?
…as for addressing male persons, whom I’m not on personal or first name terms with, as “Mr”…it’s called being respectful and having manners…even when they…like you… are buffoons…don’t you have manners taught to you where you hail from….Mr 99…?
…“Even a blind fool knows it's you”….but Mr 99…? I’M... NOT…“RIKK”….not shouting…just saying with emphasis...and slowly…so that you can keep up…
…the evidence is there if you want it…so what does that make you....apart from a ridiculous little cretin of a man…

they've had 2 weeks during the international break to make updates to the game, yet they choose the midweek round to do it. Geniuses.
"I'm sorry I didn't leap out of bed in the dead of night, to check the scores, and correct what I had written hours before the event you are talking about"
You didn't post it hours BEFORE the event, idiot, you posted it hours AFTER the event, and since when was 11:55pm the 'dead of night', requiring you to LEAP out of bed? Unless you're a YANK!
"You see I'm not clairvoyant and couldn't possibly have known."
You don't need to be clairvoyant to check the scores and find out what was really going on, you just need a modicum of intelligence, which rules you out!
Self praise, is no praise at all. But how could we expect a knuckle grazing, tree dweller like Rikki to understand that?? Well Done Butch...absolutely risible......but the Colonies couldn't offer up much more to a Pom. Probably the lack of any formal education. Especially at a Queensland home for stray English kids.... PMSL again...... and wash those shorts for f...k sake. They must be heaving after a day perched at the bar ...that's it isn't it Butch? You're a bar fly.....
Following my joke last week about the Holy Qur'an, and the large number of private messages from Muslim members of this site that followed it, I would like to make the following statement:
"Islam is a religion based on peace, love and respect, and this is the central message of the Qur'an. As such I offer a full apology for making the claim that it encourages suicide bombing and violence."
OK, there - I said it. Now can you please stop sending me death threats?
There's an overwhelming stench of burnt Pork here today. And someone forgot to stick an apple in it's mouth. Africa has it's Messi, and the Arsenal board, it's knuckle grazers(the high forehead, with the eyes close together, denoting lack of intelligence). Funny how they've always invaded us from the North. Must be the quality of living down South, and the appeal of a bright shiny new stadium, as opposed to the rabbit hutches they are used to. Ohhh! the squalor. LMFCO.
