I agree, that explains the drop in possesion, territory but probably also looks the reason for us being more dangerous on the counter due to the onorthodox nature of our runners. If the left and right back in a back four are in their normal positions then you would assume they can pick up a pass deeper and under less pressure so more likely to keep the ball then when they are 15 yards furthur up the pitch. I wondered what was going on after us talking for so long about playing with an identity, a fixed style but if the results continue then I can't complain!
I think the change is heavily due to the options we have available. To have Agger, Kelly, Johnson, Cissokho, Allen and Coutinho missing would have destroyed us in the last few seasons. When you have centre halves playing so well I guess you just go with the logic, likewise, when you have those 2 strikers, you have to try and get them both in the dangerous positions. I see a future in the 3-5-2 though, with Allen and Agger returning this week, we may well see an increase in fluidity over the erratic Sakho and combative Lucas.
Can you imagine this starting eleven though:
Toure Skrtel Agger
Johnson Gerrard Lucas Enrique
That would take some beating!
Fact is Augero missed or Howard saved his shot, then Howard knocked the ball into his own net so for my honesty I claim an Augero miss and an own goal by Tim Howard.
I think you can stick RVP on that list too and Fabregas had his troubles as I recall. I would argue that no club would be able to sustain competition with players of that quality unavailable. Diaby,RVP and Fabregas were the backbone of the squad assembled by Wenger to lead us through the lean financial years. I recall Wenger stating that he was happy with the squad in years gone by and that he would only add players of top quality. He did this too with the likes of Nasri and Arshavin, the latter was a massive let down as we all know.
I recall Arsenal leading the Prem and looking to be odds on champions only to suffer an obscene spate of injuries, 13 players sidelined.
The stage changed hugely when Chelski and then City began buying success and Arsenal could not compete financially, being outbid on notable targets. I think noises were made with regards to this situation from within the club too. That said, I agree the club perhaps should have made the situation regarding the funding it had available clearer though it may have been decided that such statements may have had a negative affect on the clubs interests.
Oh! that piggy is to deep for me. I'm lost here. He's really 'out there' isn't he.? either that, or a fruit pie chocolate drop, with a penchant for the finer things in life, like watching Manure lose, sat in a cold, p..ss wet, (refurbished, second hand, 'Old' Trafford) honking them on, with little effect.

No, you're wrong there tithead, one of FABONGRASS's replies on this thread was deleted.
Now, whether or not you think I'm lying about it is completely irrelevant to me, seeing as I couldn't give a monkeys' chuff what you think!
By all means keep biting though, it's your only purpose in life! LMFAO

So based on some of the information I'm reading / seeing, outside of what's provided on LFC and related sites, alot of which Dave can see (not making it right or wrong), I'm going to make my assumption and prediction for the lineup tomorrow..
Basically a 3-4-3, or you could say 3-5-2, but with Suarez doing his roaming and Daniel up top..
I don't like leaving Moses out of the team whatsoever, but I think Henderson has become so invaluable through his incredible workrate, improved quality, and flexibility, that we almost find it impossible to get him out of the lineup, and with Glen, who I'm under a strong impression, will start (again could be wrong), we'll get width from him, Enrique and Surez/Sturridge when they work wide channels.
I think Henderson's inclusion allows us to really press the issue up high, and with both their top 2 CB's out, and the way we went into St. James last year 6-0, we outta do the same thing, and suffocate them. I honestly considered leaving Lucas out, to keep Henderson there, and keep Moses in, or even Alberto, but, for now, my only major change is Agger for Sakho.
Bench: Jones, Sakho, Wisdom, Allen, Alberto, Moses, Sterling
It's a bit funny how none of the old Man U regulars are on here now?
Always nice to see ABU and FABS rubbing salt into the wound though! ;)
I wouldn't worry piggy, when it comes to having a boot ugly mush that looks like a bulldog chewing a wasp, you have no competition from anybody, even the elephant man was considered handsome compared to you.
Now, feel free to bite!
First, the other things.. Figures Torres plays out of his mind, and gets a 91st min winner, or we could have had a little breathing room in 2nd place ahead of the HUGE match w/ Arsenal. 2nd, US commentary said today's Chelski Citeh match featured a combined $1.3Billion dollars worth of players, just pathetic. 3rd, Southampton are not going away, they're going to be in the top 6 conversation all year. 4th, I think Spuds may just win every game 1-0 on Soldado pk's, their D is impressive. And 5th, Borini scored an absolute stunner for the Sunderland winner, which was great to see, because I've been upset he's on loan and 2 managers haven't used him at all, which I'm sure is not part of a loan agreement, while Altidore looks lost. Good for Fabio, we could always welcome him if he plays like that when he's on..
Ok, now on to yesterday and Arsenal. That was probably the finest we've played all season, by a long shot, if nothing else, while in this 3-4-1-2 formation. I felt that PK was very harsh, just a collision with Lucas in the box, so I felt as if we did keep a clean sheet despite the goal. Skrtel was everywhere, and Sakho looked his best so far, Toure good enough. I don't care that it was West Brom, whereas someone like Colin would have complained as if they don't count, yet West Brom just won at Old Trafford, and held Arsenal to a draw, ending their 9 match winning streak, and who also beat us twice last year, 3-0 and 2-0. We're finding ways to outclass the teams we struggle against with parking the bus.
As for next week, I really think we need to revert back to a normal back 4, because Giroud is good enough to cause some problems, and if his hold up/link up play is on, Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere etc., will all find space and pick the 3 cb system apart. As for who starts, for me, Glen, Skrtel, Aly, and Agger. I'm not sure if Agger is on his way, but we could use his ball skills vs a technical side. 4 Cbs also lets Jordan stay & makes room for Coutinho..
