Shoemaker is in F1 from 1991-2006 so : 15 years - 7 titles. Joined F1 in 1991 , Jordan , Benethon 2 titles, ferrari 5 titles Ex. Alonso 2001-Minardi , 2002-test pilot , 2003-2006 Renault 2 titles .. and now Mclaren .. what is that thing that Alonso cannot achieve .. He is now .. 11 years younger than Schumi .. and if he continues like he is doing .. what stops him from beating some fucking records, (not records like most poles, cuz its obvious that Ferrari was the fastest in those years, ispite the fact that it is still one of fastest)but world titles. Throughout F1's history there have been some great drivers but there has arguably been none as successful as super Michael Schumacher. So, will he ever be replaced as F1's number 1? Its probably hard to see but we have some great drivers about at the moment. Which is probably part of the problem. Alonso looks very strong but there are many drivers hot on his heels.
Will Schumacher ever be replaced? Well, you can never replace him but will there ever be a driver as dominant as he was? Probably. But i have the feeling it won't be for a while... Who has come close to him and who has the potential to be the next F1 Super-Power?

When Michael Schumacher became F1 champion for first time there was no great star to race with him. Aerton Sena died that year as you can remember and Prost was far from his best. Later when Michael moved to Ferari and he lost to the williams only because the car was so good that even a blind man would become a champion with it. So after ferari maked a better car Michael was again number 1 with Daemon Hill gone. So my opinion is that Michael never raced a driver that matches his skills, until Fernando Alonso came aboard. And Fernando managed to overtake F1 while Michael was still in the big game, so that makes him the present king of F1, who can become even greater than Schumacher if he is keeping the will to win races.

Although he is very quick, I believe he is using this year as a training period, Dennis is no dummy. These next 2 weeks will show his true abilities due to not being on these particular tracks. This statement is very disappointing. You can not compare sportsmen in sport where almost everything depends on car. It would be much more different story if F1 would be sport with equal opportunities for all drivers. It would be nice to see Michael driving for some other team. I would say that his manager has done good job securing him place in wining cars. Compare him with for example latest Hamilton statement about loosing title. He says he would not be happy to become champion based on the penalty for three cars in front of him. That sounds like sport. In same time Ferrari will do otherwise and this season is witness of that. If they can not win the race on the track they will do it on court. What about testing limitations. Ferrari is only team to test without any limitation while all other teams are limited to exact number of days per year. It would be the same like marathon race preparation would be allowed just for two competitors while all other can have trainings two hours per month. On the other hand we remember Michael driving in USA and fighting with four 5 second slower cars, we remember him wining many races after his team intervention and instruction to team mate to let him go. We remember him intentionally crashing other drivers in already lost battle for him. Being always privileged driver does not mean that he is better it just means that whole team even the other driver would work for him. Calling him greatest driver is far from reality. This is bad for the sport. Even in Kerpen on his own go-kart track his brother Ralf holds the record and not Michael. I can accept statement that Mr. Weber his manager is one of the greatest but can not accept Michael being greatest driver.

In my opinion no one can replace him. All probably sounds strangecoming from a Brit but I'm no Lewis Hamilton fan either! If all the drivers today compare themselves to Michael then they will fail, how many of todays drivers can finish a race in 1st place with only 3 gears left. Todays drivers at times are more reliant on the gadgets this year we will see as the boys have lost some of their toys. This year should be very intresting with a possible 4 horse race, everyone knows what Lewis can do and they will be ready so this year should be the best for a very long time. As a Scotsman I hope Lewis does it but he will never be Michael Schumacher

I think that the FIA know a thing or two about motorsport as they are the WORLD Governing Body of the sport and have been for 100 years. Why don't apply to join the motorsport arm of te IA as an advisor if you know better?
