Hey, we started out last year with so many changes, yet always lofty expectations, and a schedule like this out of the gates, so we always loved this better, until now..
I like to look one game at a time, but it's hard for any of us, including the players, though we all know, even at our lowest of low points in the past 4-5 years, we've always risen to these sides, home and away.
Plus, everyone around our area except Everton (they could win 7 in a row!), is playing each other now, tightly congested.
To be the best, you have to beat the best!
Apparently the glory boys that actually attend games (none of you then!), were booing the new manager after the LOSS to NEWCASTLE (Howay the geordies!).
Great 'support' GLORY boys!!!
Everton were the most difficult side I have seen Arsenal play so far this season, great passing game and they did indeed look as though they were the home side for the majority of the first half,Arsenal came good at the end of the half and finished with more shots on target than the visitors. I though our defence held steady against a real bashing.
Second half Arsenal were the better side for me, especially after the triple substitution. A draw was about right. Everton certainly didn't 'deserve' the win but i'll grant they played well enough for the point. Still gutted the lads didn't manage to see the game out after a wonderfully worked Ozil goal.
No shame in ManU and Chelsea losing to Everton!?!?! After the tens of millions they have spent building their squads!?!?!
True, but I wish we had January's fixtures instead of the Christmas run that we do have. At least there shouldn't be any motivation issues!
Well, at least it's a football post but in saying they could win the league, you have probably posted your daftest comment yet and that is saying something. lol (smiley face : )
True! The team's responding too. Mowatt is a real talent. Also, I've been impressed by Zaliukas; and Pugh has had a couple of good games. We still need strengthening and money for the January transfer window can't come soon enough... Though I'm not holding my breath as Leeds management still has a lot of ground to make up to convince fans that its interests coincide with those of the club.
Although many would be reluctant to say it, or acknowledge they saw it, albeit quietly done, Allen was arguably our best all around player in that match, not named Suarez.
I read the stats, and watched a video compilation of 4-5 minutes of just his play, and it was the Welshman who was a shining light at the Olympics for team GB, and more.
The loss, while we may benefit, and some calling for it, of Gerrard is going to be tough. He leads in assists and our 3rd leading scorer. He is better than Lucas at 33 on 1 leg, BUT, now we will be forced to use Allen, Jordan and Lucas all in the middle of the park where they belong, and can play an aggressive, high tempo, press, pass and move style, whereas he has been restricted to deep lying playmaker. He has adapted to it well, but it's not necessary in BR's ideal style.
This will also guarantee Sterling a run of games, Alberto ALOT more time, and put Aspas and Moses in hungry / passionate competition to show they belong in the squad, or at least quality impact minutes.
stephen had Rooney on the bench, so sure to play him & Suarez... and Kun?
He had a 5 man midfield, Yaya, Oscar, Ozil, Coutinho & Ramsey...
Defence Ward, Lovren & Debuchy
If he trades down Kun to Lukaku, benches maybe Ozil if Oscar's fit, trades down Mig to Cech, and 'upgrades' maybe Lovren to Oviedo? Who will he captain though?
Everton deserved to win, they bossed the midfield, which is usually Arsenal territory.
Never mind CL football, if they keep improving they could win the league, they have only lost one game.
Hahaha!! ANOTHER thread about ME!
You really are getting desperate, no-one is taking a blind bit of notice of you, we haven't stopped posting, the only difference is, we can say anything we like about you, and you can't reply!!
I couldn't have made this up, it's almost too good to be true, do keep "ignoring" me, this is the funniest thing since you claimed to have been shipwrecked in the South China Sea!
Yes, good football from Everton. Pretty solid at the back, tigers in midfield and a good strong striker up front. They also have a bit of a gung ho attack attitude with some talented players. You don't have to be brilliant to get 4th at the moment, and Everton stand as good a chance as anyone on current form.
Having said that, I would hope that 8 times out of 10 the keeper would stop Deufelue's shot hitting the back of the net!
No Agger on Saturday either Jason. Perhaps he is listening!
Injuries are becoming a worry now but Allen has picked his game up a bit too.
