    Doug, nice bite mate!

    Thanks.

Post as many STATS as you like, Boro SHOULD HAVE more in their favour, as it IS a HOME GAME for them! or are you going to come up with some stupid excuses that Boro shouldnt try even harder to perfom on home turf?

I especially liked your "N´Zogbia will never score a goal like that again. Solo class which saved your poor teams blushes" -Now! just how sick will you be if he bangs a few more like that in this season and proves you wrong?

"Woodgate couldn´t handle Martins? He got subbed off cos he was in Woodgates pocket" - Is that why Martins was subbed? was it? Hmmmm? are you "Big Sam" now or something?

Yeah Woodgate had such a great game? didnt he? ha ha ha ha! (can you smell the sarcasm?) Martins did run rings around Woody, had you actually watched the match you would have clearly seen that (listen to it on the radio did we?), and if Woodgate was so great, explain why he was the one who should have stopped Viduka backing up and scoring that goal too! Yeah, GREAT Woodgate performance. ;o)

I'm really loving your angry reply Doug, its just gave me more reason to wind you up & post more micky taking!

Lets get onto the match attendance shall we? as for the lack of NUFC fans bothering to go to the Riverside? well? after last seasons cut back in allocated tickets to the Geordies, all because of the "oh! the Geordies were standing last season" incident who can blame us for not bothering?

Didnt stop you idiots doing it in your own ground throughout the UEFA Cup though? did it?

I've told you before, theres a whole host of Geordies who dont class your lot as rivals, or this Tyne Tees thing being a PROPER Derby match.

Smoggies are like Mackems in one way, they spend more time talking about and slagging off NUFC and Newcastle itself & Geordies etc, than they do putting some attention into the club they supposedly support & that dump of a place its housed at!

I'd be more concerned about the lack of HOME supporters at these Boro matches myself, mate, its speaks in volumes about the useless support the people from Boro offer their local team.

    Enjoy.

The fact you think the chanting aimed at Mido was inconsequential just demonstrates that you are either an ignorant clown or worse still a racist. Barracking of players, managers, match officials and even rival supporters has gone on for years and so long as it isn't malicious is part and parcel of the game. However racist taunts need to be stamped out as soon as it starts. Southgate may have many faults and is relatively inexperienced but he is four square behind his players, is a lover of the beautiful game and one of the game's gentlemen. What happened on Saturday from a section of Newcastle supporters was despicable, reprehensible and indefensible to every proper football supporter. The ordinary football supporter including the vast majority of Newcastle supporters are decent people albeit with an obvious team bias. I am sure they are as disgusted as all other right minded people and feel that a player or official's skin colour, race or religion should not be used in a chant. As for you, perhaps you should restrict your comments to the BNP message board and leave these boards for real football supporters

That’s what I dislike about SG, all thought he's one of the best chairmen in the premiership and country he has this awful knack of recruiting rookie managers who out stay there welcome

Robson - Should of been sacked 2 seasons earlier than when he actually left

McClaren - Gibson got lucky that the FA wanted McClaren as England manager just a few months after he'd signed a new contract, thus getting (probably) a bumper compensation package from the FA

Southgate - Had an ok 1st season but nothing special, signed one or two panic buys last season one of which is constantly injured and is very unlikely to shift Woodgate or Pogatetz once fully fit, (so could also say wasted £6M), has proved in 2007 that he's in desperate of needing some help other than Cooper or Crosby, needs also to bring his own coaching staff in as well or get some backbone and start dropping the players who aren't performing (i.e. Downing, Boateng etc) and giving the likes of Adam Johnson a chance (once he's back from his loan)............actually I would sell Downing in January and start playing Adam Johnson, if his current form is anything to go by, I doubt Downing would be missed and Johnson would be a better choice for the England squad.

I sometimes think that SG is more of a fan than a chairman, as some of his view like not hiring an experienced manager or foreign manager, another chairman probably wouldn’t give two hoots about just as long as the teams winning cups or finishing high in the league and its filling the ground, something that’s not happen with the Boro at the moment.

Methinks you are but a bitter, deluded and deeply troubled old smoggy Douglas. Has one been at the evostick again, or did your Russian squeeze get you a cylinder of laughing gas for Christmas ? Like I said previously do you think laughing at our predicament will help keep your lot out of the relegation places ? Yes we`re in turmoil yet again, but at the beginning of the season I offered you a bet that we`d finish at least ten points ahead of your lot,I`m still up for it,are you ?............Go on deep breath Dougy, inhale more gas, that`s it ho ho ho.......By the way if Mike Ashley pays £134 million for NUFC don`t you think he has the right to appoint a manager of his choice, because I do,afterall is that not what Abbramovich did at Chelsea and look what happened there.Aye Dougy, the only way is up for our lot but sadly your heading in the opposite direction.......More gas, more gas.

Come on Davey...I shouldn’t have to remind you we actually have a sense of humour...we bloody need it supporting Boro.

Woodgate's move was probably the best thing for everyone...he is in the last years of his career, wants some medals & a taste of big games....we needed a new striker (who cant score!) and at the moment have a few good YOUNG defenders, who are far less injury prone, they are even getting call ups for the England squad.
Who knows, they may stay with us for a couple years more.

Good to see you back posting again on here Davey....just in time for the performing baboons...hey Douggie throw a couple of bananas on the dance floor I can hear Jabba & Geordie_bloke’s knuckles scraping.

Missed you in the Emerald on Sunday CJ, even brought the lady down to prove she is real!

Hope all is good in the uk...the weather looked cracking! (Just started the late March rains here!)

Just realised old Jabber is banging on about Woody in April when he moved in Jan. Whats the matter Jabber, been keeping quiet till now? Not sure why that would be!

what a cracking game against Man U.

GS has taken a lot of stick, he is a young manger still learning his trade but a change of tactics aginst Man U and Chelsea proved golden although not as point profitable as I would have like or as the games reflected.

    He comes from Hereveen,
    He is a goal Machine
    Alfonso ohhh ohhhh
    Alfonso ohh ohhhh

    Come on Boro.

Now the toughest games our out of the way time to crack on and storm back up the league.

    Cant wait for the Mackems!

Nice to see the black and whites picking up a few wins. Last time they won was back in Nov so about time too.

Nice to see the 350m investment has not been wasted!

You guys (like CJ) have some severe problems if you're seriously thinking I'm angry with you silly smoggies, I'll let you into a secret, it's anything but that! Although I do find you all a source of amusement! (squeaky voices and hilarious accent)

I just find it slightly funny that people coming from a place a million times worse than Newcastle upon Tyne could ever be, are always so keen and eager to stick a knife into the Geordies.

Face it, it's like I've said before, if anyone mentions the north-east of england, the first places that come to people's mind and always get mentioned are Newcastle and Sunderland NOT Middlesbrough!

Get over it, I know I would if I was living in Spain & didn't really give a monkeys about Geordies like some of you make out! ;o)

Oh come on CJ! less of the typos "dig" over "TAN" I'm sure if I wasted enough of my time & efforts on here, I could provide a link to the countless errors you have made yourself "bud".

Enjoy the upcoming season smogs, and good luck.

    Regards.

    "Easy" (like Boro girls) ;o)

I posted this in December regarding Downing and the money situation at the club.
One thing I will say for the lad, since the Spurs so called deal fell through he's playing out of his skin and that's being a total professional.
He could have sulked like so many in the past but he's done the opposite.

    22 Jan

Boro have signed Wigan Athletic striker Marlon King on loan until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old, who has spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Hull, is cup-tied and can not play in Saturdays game at Wolves.

However he should make his debut in the Premier League test at Chelsea next Wednesday.

Boro also hope to push through 23-year-old midfielder Ben Watsons s2m switch from Crystal Palace by the end of the day.

Gareth Southgate said: We have an agreement with Wigan and with Marlon that he will join us over the weekend on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season.

Ben has been here today as well. He has been having a medical and a look around.

We have agreed a fee with Crystal Palace and we are hopeful that we can tie this deal up, too, by the end of the day.

Southgate is aware there is interest from elsewhere in Watson, but is hopeful his clubs move has been decisive.

Meanwhile, Southgate also confirmed Wigan have been given permission to talk to Boro striker Mido, but insisted this is separate to the King deal.

I have seen some criticism of Steve Gibson in my time, but to accuse him of having no guts is beyond the pale. One only has to look at some other clubs and see the Chairman's prediliction to fire a manager on the strength of a run of losses and see that it takes conviction and 'guts' to stick by a guy. Just remember, its his money after all, not some plc, and he who pays the piper calls the tune. Southgate doesn't need the sack, he needs experienced assistance and that is my criticism of Gibson.

Things are looking a little bleak CJ. Watching it on Saturday was bad enough.... no one supporting Alves who is completely ineffective on his own and certainly no target man. Downing was working his socks off but is trying to do too much. The back four are solid enough and even Pogatetz tries to move up field out of frustration but once up there he hasn't a clue. Tuncay is like a headless chicken, Arca doesn't seem bothered, O'Neil tries quite hard but has no one to play off him and is waiting to move at the end of the season come what may, even AJ is looking jaded. It was a big blow to lose Digard nothing happens when he isn't playing. Good to see Alliadiere back but he clearly wasn't fit. Walker though promising just hasn't got the experience to take part in this sort of scrap, the others can't look out for him.
Even worse was GS's match summary on Radio Tees, he just hasn't got anything to say.... he needs help and NOW! He has no ideas left, no motivation in his voice ....nothing!!

It's all well and good stating names like Mourinho, Ranieri etc etc, the way it's looking Boro will be playing Championship level football next season so therefore you can forget the big boys of the managerial world, no way will any manager that good even contemplate anything other than Premiership football. My best bet for any job at the Riverside would be Alan Curbishley, prooven history in making unfanciable teams half decent so providing he can be tempted away from the South he would be the best option for me.

Gibbo and Southgate obviously have agood relationship and Southgate has said at the start to him that he could do the business with limited financial resources - He failed .. and Gibbo seems to be a man of his word so GS stays.
But I think you'll find out next season as Mbro wallow in the nether regions of the championship Gibbo will terminate the relationship.
In my view I just think that GS does not have it as a top league manager
