I don't feel passionate about this but clearly Petr should realize his argument is weak as you point out. He could also see that we got 4 points more then they did from the teams we both played and therefor should go through. A playoff seems fairest.

I think if we beat Newcastle, and Chelsea draw Everton we should be good. I have a feeling we either will struggle against Newcastle and finish 5th or we will beat them easily by 2 goals no problem. I don't expect a difficult victory. It will depend more on which Newcastle shows up than which Arsenal, Newcastle can be a handful at home and maybe their French players will be motivated to show Wenger what they can do, or they will role over and we will have a comfortable victory.

I agree with him, Chelsea have a game in New York on the 25th May, already sold out, and are then expected to be back in England the following day.

Why not just extend the criteria to head-to-head?

If it's good enough for the CL group stage, it should be good enough for the EPL.

I'm sure if Arsenal had won both games there would be no argument.

do u work for sky fab? trying to get more viewers! everyone knows the goons will win easy. newcastle have been awful & have nothing to play for. even the managers not bothered. put yer money on arsenal win. good odds & easy ££. sky should really show chelsea & arsenal matches. more chance of both games meaning something. didnt u tip wigan to get a result at arsenal alan? even thou it was obvious they would run out of legs & lose. anyway, im hoping we beat sunderland & finish with a win. even if it is too little, too late. wouldnt like to be in levys shoes. he sacks harry when we finish 4th & hand picks avb against.most fans wishes. & now we finish 5th. wriggle out of that 1 levy!

Should Arsenal & Chelsea finish on the same points and goal difference then we would both share third spot, but due to the CL qualification status it has been decided that both teams should play off to establish automatic entry and 3rd spot.

What I find hypocritical from Peter Cheque is that he states that should this happen then Arsenal shouldn't deserve 3rd because we had lost to Chelsea twice, but what he doesn't seem to realise that the rules to not account for records against each other and therefore his view is biased.

This is the same player that picked up a winners medal last week from a competition his team didn't even enter.
Chelsea got dumped out of one competion and as a softner got a result by being included in the Europa Cup comp.

This stinks of double standards to me, or is it he now realises Arsenal are starting to get their #$%$ together and see us as a real threat.

It almost wants me to wish for a play off and then beat Chelsea just to make him suffer.

A 4-1 win against Newcstle is my prediction with Everton drawing at Chelsea so it will be irrelevant any way!

Rikki, the cowardly #$%$ is behind the thumbing down madness.

Coincidentally, all the posts I made on the Man U board have been subjected to the same treatment by him. He seems to enjoy doing it as if people give a damn. Sad indeed!

Cap'n have to reply this way since Yahoo doesn't let me reply directly to your post below.

I have not studied the FFP in minute detail, but the principal that a clubs spending has to be in relationship to its earnings seems fair to me. In particular as it relates to wages.

It seems to me if an owner wants to build a stadium and donate it to the club or provide it to the club for free that there should be latitude for that, but to me that would be different than when an owner funds a team that makes 500mill a year on revenue and spends 600mill on wages. It is that principle that kills of competition IMO and thus kills the mid-table and bottom teams in the process.

I keep saying it, to me the answer and the simplest benchmark to monitor is a wage cap which should be the same for all teams whether you are City or Everton. It drives salaries down and distributes players more evenly and to more teams thus making the league more competitive.

Look across Europe and there is no real change in the competitive landscape, Man U, Chelsea, maybe City, Real, Barca, Bayern, Ajax. The same teams win the leagues most of the time or more often than not. I don't believe this is healthy for the sport in the long run.

Real Liverpool supporters don't post Munich taunts, just as real United supporters don't post Hillsborough taunts.

One idiot, calling himself "redevildetester" has been doing just that over the past week, some threads have been deleted, but other posts remain ... he claims to support Liverpool FC.

"What just one f*cking thumbs down. Has there been another MUNICH, I hope not!!"
"Disgusting Munich posts, yep correct. and I love it."
"If you are flying check the tarmac FIRST!!"
"16 minutes and not one reply, what up has there been another Munich?"
"You heard it here first. Check the runway.FFS"
"If you are flying to your holiday destination this summer, Don't forget to CHECK the runway first. Love IT."
"TRY again and remember, check the runway. FFS"
"Don't forget I told you , check the runway."
"Don't forget I warned you , check the runway. Useless piece of #$%$."
    "NO none of them , so I'll spell it out M U N I C H,"

I'm not looking for comments here, just letting you know what one kn0bhead is doing in your name.

"calling your own team's supporters ""smelly Indians""

You keep making this accusation, slayer, and you keep refusing to supply a link .... why is that?

Someone who did make that remark, more than once, was a poster called "Jesper", a quick scan through his post history would prove beyond any doubt that the Jesper ID has nothing to do with me.

But do keep up the lie, slayer, because that, and your insistence that you have never used the "N" word, show you up for what you are .... a NONCE!

You're not waiting for anything, slayer, you've been provided with the link at least a dozen times, you just ignore it.

Everyone knows it was you, even the midget, it's not even a subject.

For those of you who haven't seen it, here it is, you can search the posts yourself, slayer used an 'alibi', but didn't realise the post count shows the same as the main ID.

Hey Colin, I think modest is a subjective term. I mean what is expensive or cheap or even modest these days with the money thrown around in football.

For Allen I'm not saying he was cheap, 15M for a midfielder is a fair amount, but I'd not class it as expensive either. I'm not comparing these players now, but what does a good midfielder go for, what would you have to pay for a Juan Mata, or a Jack Wilshire? BR has often called Joe the Welsh Xavi which maybe a bit of bluster, but if over the course of his career if he's half the player Xavi is, I think 15M will be seen as quite modest.

For Borini I know so far he's far from impressed you, so I think you'd day even just a couple million would be expensive. However, what does a striker go for for these days, even a mediocre one? What does a young Italian on the fringes of the Italian national team go for?

Time will tell on both, and as I've said for both (and for many players in the past also) a single season, let alone the first, and even more so when those seasons have been blighted by injury is not enough time to know for sure one way or another on a player.

Rickety Altree the booze busted tea leaf! What a moron. Between him and the bald one Baptist, they make a fine pair in drag. Its no coincidence that people cant make head or tails out of what they post on here, and Yahoo deciding on this format. To confuse idiots like them. Watching them wriggle into inane, and poorly thought out comments mode, is hilarious. It makes my day watching them trying to squirm their way out of posts about them...See Yah!!
