That makes interesting reading Jason, just a shame the title is not based on the next 38 games, but instead the last 7 plus the next 31.
However to put a different spin on this I think one read is to think about who is progressing and who isn't, and then who is progressing more relative to others. Maybe for that 38 games is more than you need, and of course big things have changed between last season and this (for example 4 new mangers from this group of 7), so what happened in the 31 matches from last season may not be fully relevant going forward this season.
But, I think its clear both ourselves along with Spurs and Arsenal are on an upward trajectory, and based on the form and results this term, which granted its early, would reinforce that. The question of who is progressing more, or fastest is hard as each started at different points, but considering Arsenal are and have been a solid top 4 finisher, and most would agree Spurs have been ahead of us over the last several seasons, I'd say this looks good for us.
The real question is will this progress continue, and also will those that have maybe fallen off the pace like City and Chelsea start to move, and of course who knows whether Moyes has the mancs moving forward, going backward or just treading water.
I sure hope so Colyn.. The commentary I had, one of, if not my very favorite, Gary Weaver, said something to the affect of Lucas perhaps getting a blow for the day with a congested fixture list, and maybe (sadly for us) that could have been the reason. But even every now and again, a blind man can see a light...
If we can see it, the fans at the matches can see it, the players can see it, and all the coaches in training. And, it's quite simple, Rodgers said we were poor, our possession wasn't what he wants/wanted, too many give aways, and too slow in build up. So, the formula is, put in your 2 or 3 (in our case/system) best/quickest midfielders, who are best on the ball.
Allen, while not Bastian Schweinsteiger or Yaya Toure, was quietly impressive, won challenges, and moved the ball, even if they were sideways 10 yards, the ball was moving, in turn that allows Gerrard or Henderson to look to distribute or burst, and allow the rest of the build up play. Even moreso, we didn't give away so many needless fouls, and Lucas by facts / cards is our worst serial offender. I'd rather Stevie give a foul for crushing someone in a tackle, than a shirt tug by Lucas for getting turned.
My fear, though it could go either way, is that West Ham are a bigger, physical team, and Diame is super impressive for his size, so Lucas may well get back in. As for Agger, I'm tired of chop and change back there, but maybe Sakho gets the nod here, w/ Skrtel, so they can deal w/ Cole up top

And right on cue…here’s fool number four…
..the Ultimate OINK!...the Geordie who thinks it makes him appear clever and cosmopolitan to repeat the same schoolboy German swear words over and over…just as he repeats most of his posts…over and over and over….. and over……
…he has a foul mouth and penchant for Glen Campbell songs…but he’s tired of being ignored and all alone on the empty Man U board that he boasts of having destroyed….so he’s posting on Arsenal simultaneously now….
…ohhh…and he don’t like Celine Dion….;)…let’s all sing along to Geordie Girl’s theme song….
When I was young
I never needed anyone
and alienating myself was just for fun
Those days are gone…livin' all alone
I think of all the friends I've known
When I dial the telephone
All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself
…I understand your pain...
…but I think Rikk was right….it’s so much easier for you "four fools" to claim you’ve been ridiculed and shown for what you are by him……than be owned by a little Scottish lass…
…if you can’t tell the difference after all these months…there is something seriously wrong with you…all of you...
...but then again…everyone already knows that…;(

...you should know better by now....;)
...or couldn't you resist licking up to Mr 99...?
...you calling someone else a troll....now that is comical...:)
What I really love is the love affair between Kipper Roy and Mr Dodgeabanana....
...it was love at first sight...a match made in heaven...they have so much in common...
..and between them...they already have an extended family network...
...it's so cute that I'm almost filling up...I'm going to buy a hat just in case I get an invite...:)
I RECEIVED THE MOST POINTS THIS WEEK - 166!! (check out Vidavidas) AND IT DOESNT SHOW ME IN THE MOST POINTS SECTION OF WEEK 8, AND ON MY PAGE IT SAYS I ONLY RECEIVED 61 POINT (whereas only Diego Costa received 66 alone being the captain of my team) WHAT'S GOING OOOON???
I do wonder if games that are 'banana skins' are based on the mental attitude of the team. i.e games they go into thinking they can win without even trying. In which case, this kind of approach seems to have been drilled out of them now.
Hull aren't the 'rugby' team they were a few seasons ago and this team appear to have built up some resilience to the physical sides of late. Even Stoke were tamed by us, without us receiving one card. Steve Bruce has always put out teams to 'rough' us up, but I don't think it will work now.
Looks like you've handed both their backsides to them on a plate Butch. I've never seen such a whitewash on here before, the Geordie was made to look like an intellectual midget, and Dodge really should have checked before shooting his big mouth off.
Well done, devastating!
Good Grief...Kipper gives an opinion...!
...even if it's "someone else's"...:)
..."The least respected people in S Africa are the Police, the Judiciary and the government"....sounds familiar...
Knowing nothing about football, I suppose it's quite easy to confuse Ajax, with a cleaning liquid
He's having his nuts roasted everyday FOG, and coming back for more???......only the mentally challenged do that. Or the punch drunk. I wonder how he's going to spend Christmas, when everyone is with their family and friends enjoying it. Imagine if you can, someone with his problems, sitting there at his little screen, scratching around the internet, desperate for a bite. That would be like doing 'cold turkey' to him. No pun intended.
It wasn't just one day though. Napoli had an extra day of rest in between there league games too. The league games in Italy are a much tamer and slower affair.
We matched them in the first half, but in the second half our players did get tired. Wenger had to rotate bit too, so we didn't have what I would consider our best starting XI out on the field from the start.
I'm not making excuses for the loss. Napoli deserved the win. But, because of the lack of depth in our squad, we now have potentially a more difficult next round game.
My big worry however, is going to City this weekend. City having had an extra day of rest too, and a much bigger squad to pick from. This could be a damaging result for team morale if they don't turn up on the day.
The score flattered City. and yes it was a tired effort. But hey! still up there fighting. No team has knocked 3 passed City at home, playing poorly. Remember that please. Before anymore judgement is made. Give credit where it is due, if only in small part. We will come again. And City know that. Also, the time of the game was, to say the least, not in Arsenal favour.
