I think Lukaku will be popular wk5. Last day wasn't great tbh apart from Ozzy, but I suppose Fellaini might be worth a look, but if he's too deep no point when you can buy 2 quality attacking players for his price. Barry? What's the point when you can buy a good attacking midfielder with his price. Sess? His ambition was to leave Sunderland ... but he seems to have gone to a worse club! I wouldn't touch him @any price. McCarthy's good, but we pay his old Wigan price 10.38m, again, simply better quality around @ 6.3. So looks like just Oz & Lukaku ... ?
Still checking you guys out, Sfer. The 2 Johns are stalwarts at the minute. But same as you, don't know what the fuskc Yahoo are playing at.
I bought him then I sold him. What's good? ... and what's bad?
He's a proven goalscorer, he's a mate of Jose's, Ba is out-of-favour - nearly loaned out on deadline day, Torres hardly gets a PL start, Lukaku loaned to EFC, Moses just across Stanley Park.
Sounds good for Eto'o? Yes ... initially.
The bad news;
He's 32, been playing 2 yrs in Russia and has a bad attitude! lol ... buy him and hope! Oh, and Ba & Torres are still pretty good on their day.
Moses? Is he the crafty buy? 4.88m? ... I prefer Bent at that value, but I bet a few sneak M in.
i use latest firefox browser, currently the transfer is OPEN but i couldn't swapped a new player to the player that i remove, and the remaining money is not the accurate money after i sold my player, it's just the remaining money before i sold my player.
There is a red empty box at right hand side when i click something, i think there is not enough testing on the new changes of this system.
When I talk up Bent and say Lukaku is value too (for wk5), let's be clear ... One is damaged goods (4m), one was sensational for WBA last season(13m). By damaged goods I mean Bent was not in Lambert's thinking, he had to get shot of expensive salaries, so Benteke came in, rest history. So he's not been done by lack of form, more finance, although some will say he's not that good, maybe, but he gets goals. So we have a 9m gap, but tbh, I don't think there is really a 9m gap. We'll see.
There's a lot of grumbling ongc. Try Chrome, fiddle about bud ... I simply use Chrome in W8 on a laptop, so it's a bit hard for me to understand every problem. Hopefully someone will answer you properly, gl.
Not sure what they're doing, but when I realised that Yahoo had dropped the links and that people may then have a problem finding the site again, I went down and 'rated' all the old posts for as many unique users as I could find - so they all hopefully got an EMail from yahoo with a link back to the forum. I tried to explain it on the thread
README: If you have linked here from a ratings mail - bookmark this forum
Presumably a few just ignored the thread rating mail.
yay I'm back!
For me Tottenham have gone s*** or bust for the Champions League. Transfer wise they maybe ok but their wage bill has gone up a lot for sure. If they don't crack it this season close season at White Hart Lane will be fun from the outside looking in I think.
I think our transfer window still smacks of a club in transition. I also think we'll be that way until we (if) can crack the top 4 consistently. Big ask. Our spend seems reasonable but when you look at what's gone and what's come in then there's a whole lot of logic and sense to it. Although we do seem to have a glut of central defenders now. There's also the bonus of players that had to leave were shown the path to ther clubs.
Arsene Wenger: [Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere] had light sessions today but they will be available."
Arsene Wenger: "There is a possibility Mesut Ozil will start [against Sunderland].We have lost Tomas Rosicky but everyone else should be available.
hi crowd, just created a league for players who started in week three and wish to measure themselves to others on an equal footing. join=68336 & pass=4bo4s0y
please, only join if you scored in week 3 and not before (as i did)
Welcome back Colyn, good to see people work out how to get back in here despite it seems Yahoo's best efforts to the contrary.
I agree with you on Spurs. It may not be one final roll of the dice, but it looks close to that. If they don't get top 4 this season, not sure how long they can sustain a squad (which means wages) built for CL football. I know much of this summers spending was financed by the sale of Bale, but while Bale may have been sold for a mega stars transfer fee, he was not on a mega stars wages, and they've basically brought in a handful of players to replace one, each of whom I'm sure are on wages not far off what Gareth was making.
In some ways they remind me of where we were just a few years ago. It was fine to have the wage bill so long as we kept making the CL and progressing out of the group phase, but as soon as we dropped out, it started unraveling fast. I don't wish that on Spurs, (but of course do hope we finish in the top 4 ahead of them) but do think unless all the signings turn out to be as good on the pitch as they are on paper, and that they gel quickly, they might be on a very risky path.
Well, I'm a bit lost. We have less than 2 people per position in defence - and unless Vertigo plays left back, we're a bit exposed there (given BAE on loan) - BUT we have what, about 11 midfielders for 4/5 positions?:
Paul the Alienho
Then only 3 up front - one of which AVB doesn't appear to rate at all (Ade), and the other that he seems to have the same faith in as the other managers we've had recently (Daffy).
So, instead of 'targetting' specific areas, it just seemed to me that AVB blanket reinforced the midfield in general. I'm not saying that the purchases aren't good (only time will tell - but I like the way Capoue has played) - I just wonder how many of the purchases then from only a season ago will be still here by the start of next season (I would hazard a guess that Glyfi and Holtby will go - and Dembele may) - and if that is the case I'm just not sure the temporary stop gap approach is a route that I like.
Having said that, we'll probably end up getting 3rd or above this season!
I do hope that's the end of the internationals and we can get on with watching Ozil and Cazorla tearing up the Prem.
How do you get a cork back in a champagne bottle?
Ask a Spurs fan!
