    Not only that, he took them from THIRD last season to FOURTH this season .... MAGNIFICENT!

    SAF, who spent FAR less than Wenger, took United from SECOND to FIRST, and went out on TOP!

    He certainly wasn't the first name to come to my head when thinking of "experienced" defenders to come in, and when City was mentioned, Lescott always came up, which made me want to vomit, but of the two, I actually really like the link, and would welcome it if it happens.

    The guy can definitely still play, he's got bags of experience at every single level, with 2 Titles under his belt, and is physical, adept at both CB spots, and creates good depth and challenge for Skrtel.

    I think we'll look to bring in another, preferably a really classy, young one at a shrewd price like the kid Llori from Sporting who's a 6'3 star in the making, rumored 3.5M because of their financial troubles. Kolo and Llori would do me, especially because we'd have Wisdom and Kelly in the mix, and combined, if both were to happen, with Kolo on the free, spend very little!

    That sure frees up a lot of money and attention elsewhere and makes a name like Eriksen (who's commented recently on joining LFC if agreement is reached) very possible. Rodgers has said it's all about adding depth, and quality, not quantity. Spending 0.0 on Kolo would also avoid 10M on Ashley Williams, which when put in perspective relative to each other is a no brainer..

    So bloody typical Spurs! Didn't get to watch it, but it sounded like a typical Spurs-MU game; we dominate in possession & performance, winning until 78 mins then concede 2 goals. Cracking effort though, and positive signs for the next few years, good on them. Think I'll make an effort to get to at least some Next Gen games next season.

    Also, on my previous tangent from U21 thread, apparently if Chelsea & Arsenal had needed a playoff it would have been at Villa Park; seems a bizarre choice.

    The fact they have written Arsenal off all season, slated the likes of Mertesaker and Koscielny and Walcott, Scoffed every time Wenger has talked of the qualities of the team, laughed when RVP was sold, only for the club to beat Spurs, yet again to the coveted CL placing whilst bettering the points tally from last season, WITH RVP, is obviously grating MANY people, in the press, in the stands and elsewhere.

    Damn right the players celebrated.

    I wouldn't expect a confirmed glory supporter like you to understand Chrissy.

    Good luck now Ferguson has scarpered (no doubt in fear of Mourinhos return), after spending frankly OBSCENE amounts of cash to wrestle the trophy from City (who also spent OBSCENE amounts of cash remember), and save some face.

    Anyone can build a good football team by spending diabolical amounts of cash.

    Only the best deliver on a relative shoestring.

    Arsenal are on the rise. Those who have stood by Wenger and understood Wenger throughout are about to begin REALLY gloating.
