    Howard Webb

    by Pasty Smasher Apr 17, 2013 19:12

I could hardly call you Spock now, could I?

Babylon 5 was boring, it was like Coronation Street would be like in space.

As for the referees, ah, don't worry, they all take Fergie's brown envelopes.

And why could you call me Tuvok but not Spock? Again, very strange logic you're using.

"As for the referees, ah, don't worry, they all take Fergie's brown envelopes."

Oh, so you have evidence of bribery? Wait, what am I saying? Of course you don't, you just like saying anything you can to have a go at Fergie and United.

    Suarez at it AGAIN..

    by Jason Apr 12, 2013 23:06

Obviously, and ironic that you'd post that in this thread, and haven't read a word I've just said here.. What is the title of the thread afterall?

Furthermore, this is a direct comment from Brendan Rodgers:
"Players are always replaceable, no matter how good they think they are."

I think instead of looking for the obvious comments that will help you make things look uglier, you should read the ones that actually portray the situation as it really is. Several former Liverpool players, well known supporters, writers and media are absolutely putting him to the sword. You're never going to get 100% one way or another from everyone associated with an issue..

  • It's press hype again. This happens at every club. The manager knows who he wants and the people with the purse strings make the decision and the deal.

Be sensible Armchair. Look at Tottenham. Who makes the deals there? Levy not AVB or Arry before him. How do yo think pr expect Rodgers to value a player, decide what his wage structure will be when he has little idea of how much money there is.

It makes perfect sense that everyone at the club understands what's going on before you go and blow £10m. I'd certainly want to talk about it.

    Guard of HONOUR for RVP!!!

    by Le Pruneau Apr 23, 2013 08:17

Lol seriously Geordie, how old are you?
I come on here to point out some minor inaccuracies with Le Prunaeu's post, congratulate ManU for their deserved win, suggest that a wee bit of humility is a good thing and there is no need to rub it in on an Arsenal board.
Your response is to begin by backing up what I originally said, (yes we have been s**t and that is why we are 3rd) then go on to claim 2 (Everton and Spurs being abject failures this season) out of 3 bits of nonsense and rub it in again.
I respond with some well made points which are perfectly valid but definitely debatable...but you chose to not debate, state a fact (21 points) and then state some #$%$ (not deserve to be in the CL) and avoid any form of further debate by signing off in a similar manner as a 10 year old throwing a tantrum! lol. So not being offensive just wondering how old are you? Cause its a perfectly logical and understandable question considering...

"Lol seriously Geordie, how old are you? "

    Lol??? How old are YOU?

Spurs and Chelsea had third and fourth place tied up, Arsenal were nowhere, then they both lost and drew silly games, allowing Arsenal to take third place, for now, they still have a game in hand.

"Yes you're champions, yes you deserved it but mainly because all your opposition have been utterly gash all season."

MAINLY?? You #$%$ we're on course to score record points, we've just won our 13th title out of 21, and it's MAINLY because teams like Arsenal were shyte?

I will admit Liverpool is my "second" club after Spurs but I am gutted that this once great, and highly respected club throughout the World, is being dragged through the mud by one mentally ill player and a management team that is trying to defend the indefensible. Yes, you need to support each other but only to a point and if they can't see that this incident, along with his background and previous conduct, has gone way past the point of normal, then I feel sorry for the club and the fans. Oh, and if that's not bad enough, sanctioning the buying of players as average as Carrol, Dowling and Henderson should be enough to warrant a full scale clear out of the whole Board!

    TEN match ban?

    by MCMXCIX Apr 21, 2013 18:05

Forget Joey Barton and his ban the incident everyone needs to bear in mind when looking at the 10 game ban Suarez has received is that of Roy Keane and Alf-Inge Håland. When Keane admitted in his biography that the tackle was premeditated it created a problem for the FA. It was obvious that if they had known at the time that it was deliberate the FA would have rightly given him an extended ban but there was the question of the time lapse (the foul happened in 2001, Keane`s admission was made at the start of the 2002-2003 season) and also the fact that it wass unprecedented for a player to be punished twice for the same offence. The answer was to say that by admitting the premeditation Keane had brought the game into disrepute and for this he was given a 5 game ban and a hefty fine . Although he wasn`t charged with bringing the game in to disrepute there is little doubt that`s what Suarez did on Sunday and it may well be this was taken in to account when deciding the length of his ban.

What really bothers me is immediately after the bite he staggers of like he has been injured and is looking for sympathy, like a little boy who was just been caught up to no good, If me, you of whoever bit someone then you would be arrested, if you did it at work you would be fired and arrested.
If he played for Manchester United the Liverpool fans would say he should never play again, as you all go on about Ferdinand missing a drugs test that he returned to do the same day and passed.
Stop comparing the Defoe incident to this, they are 2 different incidents, and yes Defoe got off light, but that does not mean every player from then on should get of light for such things, the Defoe judgement was the wrong one not this one in my opinion.

The guy is a serial offender, in his short time at Liverpool he has stamped on players, said racist comments about a player, is a serial diver & done the worst dive we have ever seen & proudly admitted later that he dived, he has bitten a player and we all know he has done this before, I personally think he is a disgrace, skilful but disgraceful too.

  • First Wenger, now Parlour tells the sheep amongst you to RESPECT RVP and stop moaning about how he left you for the good of his career!

"Manchester United have been absolutely fantastic this year. They've bounced back from last season and Sir Alex and the players have done a great job.

If I was playing of course I would applaud, they've been the best team this year, theres no question about it.

There will be a bit of friction between Robin and the fans, but you've got to get over it and move on. He's switched to Man Utd. We'd have loved to see him in a Arsenal shirt this season, but it wasn't meant to be.

You dont want to sell your best players to your rivals. Van Persie going to Man Utd was a big hit for Arsenal fans."

    GET OVER IT!!!

    OOOOOOOOOOHHH ROBIN VAN PERSIE!!!
    OOOOOOOOOOHHH ROBIN VAN PERSIE!!!

"I had to wait so long to win my first title. Its a fantastic team, with fantastic players, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM."

    WINK WINK! ;)

  • If Spurs beat Wigan, Chelsea beat Swansea, and Arsenal lose to United, you'll be back in 5th spot, and they'll both still have a game in hand.

That means Chelsea's game against United, and their game against each other on the 8th May could decide whether or not you qualify for the CL.

This is gonna stir up a hornet's nest but anyway..
Strictly speaking there isn't any racism. How can their be racism when we're all members of the human race? Skin colour is immaterial. As you may as well make it an offence if someone was to insult someone's eye colour.. I know that sounds crazy but thats as much sense as skin colour.

Every person on the planet is related to each other.

Andy Carrol needed for start of next season ?

    by colin Apr 27, 2013 11:13

Carroll has had golden opportunities in the past to make a name for himself and secure his spot but failed to do so.. Hence why he was loaned outto see if he would improve. He's too inconsistent.. I bet he still moves as well as a statue.. our style is about passing and quick movement on and off the ball.. Carroll can't play that way..

Man U had 'nothing to play for'

    by MCMXCIX Apr 28, 2013 18:33

I don't think they gave a S@#$ about the points total. They were clearly not interested in the game in the first half. Once Sagna let them back into the game they smelled blood and gave it a go (on automatic pilot) for a little bit.

Sad thing is, you and I both know that Arsenal didn't under-perform this season and neither did Spurs. City and Chelsea threw it away but Man U was there to take advantage of it.

Also the PL in general is dropping it's standard, look at the CL results. I hope Moureen comes back to Chelsea and that City hire a stud manager as well. The PL needs to raise its level again and Man U can not do that on their own. There needs to be better competition otherwise before we know it the PL loses it's 4th CL spot and Arsenal will be playing nothing.
