I said when Curbs joined that he would probably keep the hammers up but that the next season would be negative and he would go back to his bad old ways.

Curbs talks about appreciation. Do West Ham want to become Charlton? Playing defensively at home.

He forgets two simple but very important things about West Ham. Firstly, winning with style shouldn't be an accident it should be sought after. Also, with tickets prices constantly going up who wants to watch his team play like Charlton did for years and years boring the pants off everyone.

I suggest to Curbs that if he only cares about the results then he should go. Redknapp, O' Neil, Keegan have fire in their belly and love the game. Curbs treats football more like accountancy.

    PLEASE GO CURBS

if there was a cup for the most boring, tedious, matches in a season then surely charlton would come close. curbs do you realise how boring your teams are. my cousin fell asleep watching your tactics.
fans that i know would rather get relegated if it meant that you would #$%$ off. surely the lack of activity on this message board shows you that a number of fans have given up in caring about such a dull team. to sum up a dull manager managing a dull team. people dont go to football to watch nonsense like that. maybe you should manage england and then more people would realise how inept you are.

i forgot to mention beattie at everton. with beattie and ferguson you have two players on big wages with not a lot to show for it. i said to friends that beattie was past his best. it seems that managers get all romantic and buy players on performances a number of seasons ago. i love keegan but he was in love with fowler but let one of the fastest players in the premiership leave.

another player with no pace. 'duncan ferguson meet beattie, he cant run either' why do managers buy players on old scoring records. recent performances at southampton told me his best was behind him. there was no way he was going to radically improve everton. it was so obvious its untrue. buying beattie tells me everton are going nowhere very fast. everton need more pace in the side and less route one. everton can stay up but should sack moyes in the summer.

The media are such thick halfwits. Two games and they are ripping into keegan. Chelsea manager got sacked playing boring football despite winning things.

So who cares whether Newcastle win anything I'm just looking forward to Keegan bringing players who aren't scared of the ball and will attack. Already an idiot presenter on talksport said keegan looks like quitting. I bet Sky are saying 'thank god' keegan has come back. I'm looking forward to keegans team next season and the Toon army will give him all the support he needs.

The media seem to have turned a bit snooty towards Keegan but a few good wins and they will be kissing his #$%$.

    Long Live Keegan!

Let's not forget Alex Ferguson struggling early on at Man Utd. If the fans keep faith and Newcastle stay up then it's going to be very interesting next season.

Newcastle have had to many managers in a short time. If the fans don't stick with Keegan then they don't deserve success. But I believe one win and a few more draws and the nonesense about relegation will stop.

We all know what Keegan's capable of and so he has earned the right to be given time.

    Long live Keegan.

Keegan has inherited a truly awful team I'm sure he can't wait to clear out the deadwood and there's an awful lot of it. Can't believe he is the favourite to leave or be sacked by bookies.

Keegan can't slag off his team because players these days are just mercenaries and most dont care who they play for. So i bet he thinks the defence is awful and players like Smith, Viduka, Owen have their best years behind them. I for one think Keegan will turn Newcastle around next season and when you look at how boring most of the teams are it wouldn't be that difficult to be entertaining.

I just hope he gets the mix of english and foreign right because this way it will be easier to create team spirit if the team understand each other.

Good luck Keegan because football needs you far more then you need football.

Hansen summed it up by saying that trying to teach players to pass the ball and hold onto possesion was not what English players are used to. Rooney up front on his own lead to England going out of the last World Cup.

What's the point of a friendly? I feel sorry for the people who flew over for that rubbish. If the manager has to take players off because they have champions league games that makes the friendly an expensive farce. It's just money for the football associations.

England may get into the quarterfinals of the next World Cup but that's only because most international teams these days are negative. The last World Cup was awful and England may become hard to beat but will we create enough to actually win games without penalties.

Forget about the fact it's early days. This manger will be happy with 1-0 wins but that doesn't leave a lot of margin for error. If you can't score due to negative tactics then you need an awesome defence and goalkeeper and england dont have these things.

why do managers go for footballers past their best on high wages. you would think managers would want youth and power up front. o'leary cant moan about lack of money and then buy a over the hill player on high wages. if his scout system was any good he would have found gems from the lower division or from africa.
i dont care about philips overall contribution he wont get you a load of goals anymore. keegan did the same with robbie fowler. the wigan manager has the right idea with power and pace up front with positive play.
as soon as i saw what o'leary was buying i knew he
was a manager with no new ideas.
managerial experience means nothing if you dont know how to use it.

I have 100% confidence in Keegan. It would be hard for Newcastle to go backwards when you consider the rubbish they played under Dalglish, Gulllit, Souness and Allardyce.

Teams these days with the exception of Aston Villa play negative tactics away from home against the big boys. Who wants to travel from Newcastle to London to watch one up front and pay £100 to do it.

Keegan has said he knows what the fans want and he's going to give it to them. Blackburn are lucky they didn't lose by 5.
