I couldn't help but getting frustrated with Fergie's starting line-up tonight. It's unbelievable how he can go for Gibson as a winger and play Rooney on the left side of the pitch. And was Anderson Injured? in my opinion, this substitution is what cost us the three points tonight. He is the Manager of the team but sometimes he makes decisions that don't always work positively. I think Ando was more threatening than Fletcher. I think he could have thrown in a pacy player in given we had Obertan and Chicharito on the bench. Still top of the table anyway but it would have been sweet being top by points not goal difference. What do you guys think...

Guys.this was the best i have ever seen United play in quite a while.Indeed we've won big games but THIS perticular win deserves a bottle...or even two.If you compare the first half and the second, you have the answers.I have always wished for a Ando and any other midfielder besides Carrick and Flectcher and i have to say that Cleverly and Anderson's combination, left unchanged a couple of games will make this team another one of the best we've ever had.His passing and mobility is way above compared to Carrick.I just wish that he gets his chance. Some of us will say he needs more games to prove his worth, not ready yet but remember he had a full season at Wigan, where his contribution was immense.THIS mid is what will bring back our entertaining game.Credit also to Nani and Young. The fact that they can swicth wings almost "Naturally" makes me also believe that this team is complete. We still got Valencia,Chicharito and alot other who didn't feature today.impressed by Welbeck too.I mean, what can i say...the whole team been lacking a playmaker and Cleverly can fill that role.

@ jim. while it is true of Fergie's desire to bring up English youth, and which is a good idea, right now we need a finished midfielder. I personally think that if Fergie has to go for Henderson then he might as well not buy but bring the youth in our own reserves. His experience not far away from the likes of Chris Eagles,Richardson who we let go.

We need a playmaker in the middle of the part. Carrick and Fletcher can pass the ball and thats it. Entangle them with four markers and they kick the ball up in the air. I know Ben Arfa is more of a forward but i also think if we can get hold of him, then we have more flexibility mid and front. But hey, Fergie's the boss. Lets just wait and see who he brings in.

There's only one word i can say about the performance.Complacency.United should have buried Chelsea in the first half and it was a shock that they adopted to the same technique they used against Real Madrid.I fear United might get "lazy" and adopt to this style which does not suit the teams traditional way of playing.Defend and then counter attack. You could see that they took their foot off the peddle and this allowed Chelsea to come back.Loss of concentration resulted in lots of miss-placed passes from all angles in the field. It was so frustrating to watch this team last night. The mid-field got exposed big time.Fergie said its because of the Real game. This is just encouraging the team to get even more lazier, because they know they can get away from it from the coach.

I would hope that none goes.Look at WHU. What has Grant inherited? the team had already survived relegation can't remember how many times before he took over. I think he crucified himself taking a struggling team and with not new players to revamp his camp. Even being a united fan, i still can't understand what went wrong at Villa.Martin O'Neill deserved much more i guess and you know what? it serves a lot of these struggling team owners right because they think chopping and changing coaches is success. So my conclusion is problems in these teams are not because of their coaches but their owners and these coaches deserve a lot more.

I may disagree a little with you Roy.Arsene Wenger burns out the whole team week in week out and they've never finished below fifth.Clev will be surrounded by other experienced players and i think the only way he can mature really is if he is given his chance. Fletcher, Park, Carrick are all available if he needs rest.If this lad could change a game of such magnitude(considering City's midfield) then he's one hell of a talent. We keep him on the bench, we're wasting him and a loan would have been then another option rather...

Happy new year to all you guys firstly. Ok. honest opinions: In your view, which player do you think Fergie sold when he shouldn't have? am not talking about the old players like Becham, Keane etc. The youngsters who still have some years ahead of them. some who we probably could do with at the moment. Let me start. I think Zoran Tosic, Chris Eagles could have done better had they been given a chance. Maybe Chadwick too. Who are yours?

Ian. I agree with you about the hat-trick against Liverpool. That is one of those moments United fans would love to see consistently. The energy he had beginning of the season was amazing. It's the things about his moods that i spoke about in my earlier post Ian.

@ Jim. Indeed i am genuine. Not a season ticket holder. Not living anywhere near Manchester, or England for that matter, but a genuine United supporter i am. I get time to read posts here, but not always have time to post something. As far as the Berba issue is concerned, i just felt that it's enough of observation.

what's strange about me creating my ID today? what's strange about me posting today? There are no conditions and restrictions as to when a person can contribute in this forums. Fact that i used the word observe means nothing. You get yourself something else to do if you do not want to contribute anything meaningful....

Fergie doesn't get tired of wanting to justify his buys. Carrick, in my own opinion is not a United quality. Him playing alongside Anderson hides his vulnerability to some extent and that gets exposed whenever Ando is injured or when he was subbed like yesterday. Just when the team seem to find balance, he will experiment with his puzzling substitution.Last night's game lacked wingplay. Gibson found himself in the middle of the pack most of the time alongside Cashewnut. Most will urgue we have a game in hand, but Blackpool is no puchover. Arsenal,City are ganing momentum and any slip ups could find us again in the chasing lot.
