So fellas, Cardiff next up on Monday.
With the way results have been going for us, we will probably win this one handsomely, or am i the eternal optomist?
If you look at how results & performances have gone, we play shite, get beat, play well and win and the cycle continues. We cant seem to put 2 or 3 good performances together and build some momentum.
After the game against Svens mob it would be typical of this season for us to come out all guns blazing, and give Cardiff a good hiding.
The news that Ben Parker & Billy Painter both completed 90 minutes this week is good news and both might be in the squad for this one.
Going for Leeds to win 3-1 and lose the next game!!!

The thing that was more noticeable than anything else to me was how much more pace Cardiff had throughout their team.
As you point out Andy, when Gradel came on he was getting behind their backline almost at will when he got the ball out wide. Before that McCartney and johnson were crossing the ball in from the flanks because they knew they didnt have the pace to beat the full back.
Nunez looked lively, and i think his prefered position is just playing off the front 2 as he was coming deep for the ball and using it well to start attacks.
Im past trying to pick a team now or suggest which players SG should use in the next match. I just want us to cut out the silly mistakes and start putting some good performances together, and hopefully start moving back up the table.
Its not a crisis yet but another 2 or 3 results like this could prove to be too much to take. We have Scunthorpe on Saturday away from ER, but its going to be another full bloodied derby so its going to be another difficult game.
Lets hope we can come away with something.

SO we have signed a Goalkeeper as the only addition to the squad!!!! WTF??
It looks like we are going to have to use the "emergency" loan window if we are going to bring in any more players, but looking at all the deals that have been going on there doesnt seem to be that many decent players left who we could sign.
I suppose the only saving grace is that MJ still hasnt signed for anyone so it could still be possible for him to be joining Leeds soon, but if you look at the calibre of players being signed by teams pushing for promotion from our league, you really have to question how much ambition our board actually has.
OK Leicester have a fair few quid and have got some players on loan whose wages would be a stumbling block for us as KB wouldnt sanction paying that sort of money, but it seems everyone else in or around the top 8 clubs have accquired fringe premiership players to add to their squads, except Leeds!!
Its not like we are a small club who play in front of small crowds every week which is making players decide to go elsewhere. Highest average home attendance and sold out away grounds everywhere we go, so the issue must lie elsewhere.
Its so bloody frustrating seeing that we have a real chance to do something this season. I am trying my best to keep the faith as SG hasnt really done much wrong for me, the players who he has brought in who havent made the grade he has shipped out. I just hope he has Plan B because we cant go on to the end of the season playing the same players with the same formation hoping that we might sneak into the play offs.
I know we have some unused talent waiting in the wings who might surprise everyone once given a chance, but surely we should be adding some recognised quality players to the squad to give us at least a fighting chance of keeping up with the pack?
I think a lot more rests on tonights game than bragging rights. Hull have been doing well recently and have signed 2 players with a combined fee of 2.5M who are doing the business for them, and if they keep up this run of form could sneak into the playoffs.
If we get beat tonight then the cracks which have been papered over due to our recent good(ish) form will hopefully cause SG to act sooner rather than later to address the issues in midfield.
If we win then i feel it will be a case of "if it aint broke, dont fix it" which i think is KB's agenda anyway. We are in a good spot without having really spent any money and this will cause him great pleasure, and the fact we unloaded 5 players yesterday will only add to it.
I still think we have a fantastic squad, but if we are serious about going up then we need some more quality adding asap.

How Ironic we were lamenting about how bad Phil Dowd is, when lo and behold he is in charge of our next game!!!
Dont think we would have won even if we got the penalty but as you say "goals change games" and it would have been a lot more interesting.

Just got back from hunting the easter bunny Easy and read your post, and for me i think its all over for us. As i write this we are 1-0 down at Palace and we are currently in 9th Position as things stand.
I posted a few weeks ago that every season there is at least one team who has been in the playoff positions for most of the season who end up dropping out of the top 6, and that looks likely to be us. Forest have got their act together and seem to be heading for 6th spot, but even if they slip up, i cant see us winning our last 2 games and everyone else losing.
It has been a good season back in this league, but the opportunity for a great season has been passed up and this is what will anger most Leeds fans. Yes we are sometimes greedy and want everything straight away, but when we can all see what could have been acheived with a little bit more application it really frustrates.
Waiting with baited breath to see what happens in the summer as i think there will be plenty of players going out of the door, question is who will be coming in??

I would take Bowyer, but woody and smudge are too injury prone for me Peter. I think it would be a backward step if Smithy came to the club unless he can prove that he is fully fit and we get at least 30 games out of him next season, which i dont think will happen.
He has never recovered from the injury he got while playing for that lot, and he has never been the same player.
SG needs to be looking at young fresh players and older experienced players who are ready right now to join the club without having to prove their fitness.

As far as im aware the council owns the Ground, and some business man/consortium owns Thorpe Arch, to whom we pay quite a large amount in rent. It has been said that Ken owns the business, that owns Thorpe Arch, that Leeds pay rent to!! Far fetched? Dont put anything past KB.
And in answer to the earlier question, there was talk under the Risdale era of moving the ground to the out skirts of Leeds, most notably to a site near Stourton by the sewage works. Yep the Leeds fans though the idea stank more than the site itself and thankfully nothing came of it.
As you say H any investor should not be put off by this, as the council would probably bite anyones hand off right now to sell the ground considering the financial mess they are in with the budget cuts.

First game at home since SG went, so its a chance for us to see if the backing the players have been giving NR is justified, or if it is just a smokescreen to stop KB bringing someone who will upset the applecart.
Added to the extra pressure that KB has put on NR by saying the next 3 games are winnable, i expect us to come out and take the game to Brighton, but they are on a good run and Gus would love to come back and give 2 fingers to his old employer after what he has said about him.
You have a point about the attendance Lotto, quite a few of the guys i know arent going to ER anytime soon and havent renewed their season tickets. Should be an interesting afternoon.
