Any body else think his talking a load of #$%$ when he says Shevchenko was a success at Chelsea?? Dont get me wrong i rate the striker but he was major flop at Chelsea, or rather the most expensive flop.
I think Chelsea is a carreer destroying team for most players, you only have to look at Shev and Shawn wRight Philips. -

I'm sick and tired of liverpool supporters bashing the team when they go on a bad run. Although i havent always seen eye to eye with Rafa, i do back the man while he is incharge, i do support the team through good and bad.
A lot of people claiming to be 'supporters' dont know the meaning of the word. To support a team, you have to beleive in the team when they are going through bad spells. We all know how easy it is to support a team when they go on a good run.
The win against Chelsea was promising. I dont think the sending of was the reason why we won the game, we seemed to have been out playing them for most of the 90 mins.
A lot of people said Torres was a 1 season wonder, well, i disagree. Torres is class and though he has been injured a lot this year, he is still proving that he is just that, CLASS.
Benny played well today, Babel was again dissapointing, but that could just be because he hasnt played much this year. I do have to say that if any substitution was made today it should have been Kuyt. I like his work rate, but to be honest some times you need the end product and his delivery in the box was pretty crap 90 percent of the time.
I really hope Rafa learns from this, the importance of keeping your best players on the pitch till the end in a 0-0 game. I think it was the first he made a positive sub, (though very late) -

Rafa says we can still improve. I think his just trying to keep the pressure of our team, lol. I can feel another Rafa rant coming out soon...
Still what a game, its a shame Torres didnt score a goal as it was his birthday...
I bet Chelski are shittin them selves at the prospect of facing us against, they were so scared yesterday they couldnt even play Spurs... -

Im not saying id rather us win the mickey mouse cup over finnishing 4th, but lets be honest, when you dont expect to win at Birmingham (despite there record) it shows the lack of ambition optimisim from the management.
The exit from the CC just rehashes what we already know too well, we dont have the depth.
I'll be more then happy to eat my words if Roy some how manages to *work* a miracle, but i know it wont happen.
we shot our selves in the foot when we got rid of Rafa and replaced with a manager that doesnt know the squad. Rafa had run out of excuses, it was his squad, and though he had a howler of a season last year, we cant forget we finnished a close 2nd behind united the year before, thats better then any other manager we have had in the past decade or so.
By large it was the same squad till Woy came along. Perhaps had Rafa stayed he wud have learnt from his mistakes last year? perhaps aquaman would have come good for us? he did seem to have good assist when he played. -

I'm a liverpool fan and though we might not win the league as United seem very strong at the moment. It's been fun to have been involved in a title race, its been a long time since we last were.
But dont you guys think its been great for the rivalry we have always had? I mean, wouldnt Man U rather beat Liverpool to win the league rather then the Chelsea/Arsenal? and vice verca?
its also been more intresting because the fact that united are trying to break the liverpool league record.
Either way, may the best team win! -

It could be a blessing in disguise, may be for one of the others to step up a notch if they get a bit of regular game. With any luck, may be a michel owen in waiting could crop up.
Perhaps we should have signed Michel Owen instead, his supose to be cheap right about now anyway. Better then nothing at least. And we KNOW he can SCORE. -

Jose in those five "medicore" years we won the champions league, FA cup, super cup, comunity sheild, got a further champions league final, and numerious semi finals, and also the carling cup final, whilst improving the Premier League every season. He did all this on a smaller budget compared manure and chelsea, and lets not forget the board room battles between the yanks and Rick Perry going on in the background, err, front ground more like.
Are you calling our players stupid for coming out and praising the manager? Did Torres not say Rafa has made him a better player? he also said he was tactically the best.
So did Pepe Reina, Mascherano, and numerious other key liverpool players.
You go on that we won the CL because of Gerrard, well if it wasnt for Rafa we wouldnt have even been in the final because There was enough games in which Gerrard didnt feature in that year. Juventus being one of them.
Its idiocracy to say that we will move forward without Rafa, sacking managers only sets clubs back by a few years, ask Newcastle!
Will you have the patience for another manager as he molds his team and demands three our four years to do this? Or will you start shouting for his head as soon as things dont go according to plan?
Real Madrid arent pouching Rafa for no reason, he is class and they know it. And i know that if/when he leaves only then will Liverpool fans realize how important he could have been to us for the future. -

If we beat Chelsea we go level on points and take second place. I know it means squat didly at this point the league standings but its still nice :^)
Its a good time to play Chelsea as theyve just lost to wigan and we just thumped Hull.
Torres is on top form, along with Yossi, and Babel finally seems to be showing his skill we knew he had all along.
My only concern would be our back line, but then again with Cech suspended we could see quite an open game.
I have a feeling we might be in for another 8 goal thriller, lets just hope we manage to clinch the 9th in extra time to give chelsea the blues!! -

I've backed the man 100% since he came to Liverpool, but i think 5/6 seasons on and we are still in the same place. We have made some progress under him, albeit baby steps, but over all i think he has taken us as far as he can.
Its time to move on.
My only concern is if Rafa goes does Torres follow? And if so who comes in to replace him?
On a side note i also think Sammy Lee should go...
We need a more attacking line up, and a manager with a better eye for cheap tallent, also some one can motivate players. Coz Rafa clearly cant...
I dont want Jose Murinio because lets face it, chelsea played dull football under him and we saw that when the Abramovich tightened the purse strings he struggled to get results.
We need some one like Arsen Wenger, better eye for tallent, id take Guss Hiddink if he is available.
Guss would be my first choice, but then again he did screw up the world cup for his country...? Overrated?
