Who didnt see this decline coming, not me as you can all now admit. conceding 6 goals makes us no better than norwich. We have been overcheiving and our thread bare squad would not last the distance, it is common sense which non here seem to have sadly. We can not even say we have done well to last this long because we have only beaten the teams we have been expected to beat. We will lose to chelsea, struggle over the xmas period and fall end up scrapping for 4th long way short of the eventual winners. We can only hope man u dont get their act together this season or cl qualification will once again be touch and go.
Time to open your eyes and see the total #$%$ this team is.

Maybe if wenger knew that there were other countries in the world other than france to buy players from then we wouldnt be lumbered with total rubbish like giroud, an average player at best

You keep harping on about form but form is only temporary, our problem is lack of quality and very weak mentality. Watch mertesecker at the end having a go at ozil said it all. This team has ridden its luck and goes missing like ozil when needed most. We couldnt even beat man u for goodness sake. No doubt we will have good form again some time in the season as all clubs do, but it will need more than that to take the next step forward.
Under wenger is this possible? Not on your nelly!

Why would anyone care about positions at this stage? They are pointless when you consider we will most likely end up 3rd or 4th and even a blind man can see that is the best we can hope for. The only thing more short sighted is writing off man u, even without fergie they will bound to fight back at some point, theyre too big and powerful. This is their bad patch, their rock bottom, just as our annual best period has come to an end. They will sign in january and we keep playing bendter. Its wenger 101
And good on meresecker for telling him like it is. An awful display from ozil again, probably his worst yet, hard to see if he was on the pitch for most of the game, like playing with ten men!
Major question marks now over his attitude, perhaps madrid made him look better than he is or he is not cut out for the premiership with his slow play and zero work output. Overall verdict seems to be = this wasnt such a clever signing after all.

This is not the first season in the past 8 years we have flattered to deceive, and our position early on has given a false sense of what is real. A wise person can see beyond the trees, but you have the blinkers on it seemed, that is what I am sorry for you. We are not in the title race and I promise you the table in april/may will prove me correct. I care about us being top at the end of the 90 mins whistle in our 38th league game, and what is important is not our position now but how we can achieve this. This squad is not much better than any previous Im afraid and you will learned the hard way.

A step? More like an inch. It doesnt surprise me you or any other of the silly posers here are surprised as what I say. You will learn the hard way in may and probably continue to deceive yourselfs.

Anger is good! It means I have touched a nerve, one hidden deep down under all your airy fairy misconceptions of what is real. I said all along that december would be when we falter, but this is not me boasting as I feel it was predictable long as your eyes werent covered with blinkers. Follow the anger my freind and you once you accept the truth you will be in the real world with the sensible people

This is a good point soundly made by MCMXCIX. Only a fool would bet on arsenal right now because in all liklihood they wont have many chance to field a strong team, what with the injuries and burnout starting to mount up. Arsenal and man city are going out of the cl next round for sure, but this could play to their advantages in the league, especially city who are favourites. Then if anyone can beat barcelona, its probably an inform man city at home outscoring them. once we are out their will be no excuse for us getting top for status secured.
Owen, however, has labelled Ozil 'inconsistent', and even believes Arsenal still lack the quality to remain top.
'Despite people constantly telling me Mesut Ozil is world class, his inconsistency means that we only see occasional glimpses of real quality, he said. 'His odd good performance is usually followed by half a dozen poor ones.
'Arsenal don’t have the class of player to go toe to toe with the main title contenders'
PROOF is in the pudding, as I have said for a long time coming. Ozil wasnt what we needed this summer especially with the limited giroud our only option upfront, and this will bare fruit in the second halves of the season. NUFF said.

If you looked at most of our players you would of find the same sort of thing. Giroud is OK, but no more. Arteta is the same, Rosicky is the same, due to Ozils inconsistency you have to conclude that is average at best. Koscielny is a liability, Mertsecker is average even on form, and Vermaelen is championship defender whilst Sagna is 2 years past his sell by date and Gibbs is a poor mans Clichy, and he wasnt great as it was.
Our greatest team had world class players in every position, this was beyond argument. Vieira, Bergkamp, Henry, Cole, Pires etc. That is what we should be aiming for but sadly you and all the other phoney fans on here would rather deny the truth to protect your fragile ego's. Sad but true state of affairs Im afraid. to say.

Ozil isnt good hes brilliant, but that was showed at Madrid. This is the premiership and you must work hard to be a success here, and he is too much of lazy bones to be regarded as such Im afraid to say (think Berbatov or arshavin).
To say we have overachieved is an understatement liking to saying Henry was a decent finisher or wenger is a tightfisted. The table now does not reflect the true order of things. Man City will be top once they correct their way form (see bayern result for whats to come). Man united are still finding their form and will be strong once moyes makes it his team (see everton past 10 years for proof). Chelsea need major changes but with their investment in quality young players its hard to see past them for the next 10 years under mourinho, and spurs are one quality manager and striker signing away from being title challengers. Liverpool are the same.
We can kid ourselves saying we are top but truth is one punch to the ribs and we will be doing the bambi dance. its possible that we have already been hurt by recent results, and we are a couple of injuries away from a major slip up. WATCH THIS SPACE

Only a fool would rely on the table at this time of year. You should of learned from previous times!

This is bad news for us, couldnt worse timing infact. Chelsea will be like a wounded animal in our game and that makes them a dangerous prospect. This was an ill timed post not very well thought out.
Gets the thumbs DOWN from me im afraid to say.

It is highly unlikely that the title race will be close with us in the touching distance of a few points, considering we have been 20+ points off in previous years gone by. How could the gap just close with no action taken? Expensive acquisition Ozil has been too inconsistent which has now been recognized by many an expert of the game. A striker will help us secure 3rd or 4th that is agreed upon but to win the title we need a major overhaul of the squad case closed.

This season has shown that fergie was a true great of the game, as he dominated the name of the game season after season for 25 years. Now there is no true champion left just pretenders fighting for scraps. Arsenal proved they were poor shipping 6 against city and losing at home to poor aston villa and collapsing mentally against man u. Liverpool lost to hull and arsenal and lack quality , man u have struggled under new manager moyes to find their feet, chelsea are all over the place and man city have a great team at home, and a poor one away.
No outstanding candidate thats for sure. An betting man would we wise to pick man city to run away with it.

Fabongrasss why so wound up to the extreme? Your defensiveness for ozil reveals your true worries. He is inconsistent and this is now agreed upon in the game by the true experts. That ship has cast anchors and sailed Im afraid to say. The stats DO lie in your case, much as they did when arsehavin joined and flattered to deceive, you were of the same mindset Im sure that he was a great and still you dont learn.
Mark my words, ozil is another flop of the same ilk, destined for the scrap heap. What we need now more than ever is a world class striker. I would however not be opposed to taking remy in the meantime who is a class above the poor giroud.
