Have to agree with Robert Happy Days, Fans around the country wouldn´t hate your club so much if old Sir A set your team a better behavioural example, was more of a gent and less of a beligerent boor. He doesn´t do humility or class I´m afraid. Not to take away the success he´s brought you, just his disagreeable mien. Ancelotti and our KK have a trait Sir A hasn´t - dignity.

My heart agrees with the last post but my head says Chelsea 3 Liverpool I. Chelsea are playing awsome football at the moment and if we scrape a point it´ll be a good result at this stage. We´ll need to wait for Chelsea to hit a run of poor form before we can start contemplating going to the Bridge and coming away with three points. Hope I´m wrong though!

Bob, much though I admire your positive approach, I think we need to be aware that your reminder is about who we were and not who we are. For us to regain our position as winners, we are going to need a lot of change which the current club and managerial set up are struggling to produce. Meantime, who we were is about all we can talk about this season I regretably expect although it is an improvement on 2007 -08 for which we should be grateful.

Hear hear! As one who, mid season was pulling out what little hair he has left and, at the same time calling for Rafa´s head, I have to admit that I was wrong and he was right. The run in since January was so much better and it´s been a long long time since I felt as confident in looking ahead to next season. The Mancs managed what we didn´t, namely to scrape wins where all we could do was draw when both teams weren´t playing at their best and credit to them for that. A couple of good signings in the summer will further strengthen our credentials for the future and it should be a different story next season. Others will improve too of course but this team is starting to click!

Agreed Ian, the penalty would have made a difference but you hit it on the nail when you said that the line up was all wrong. The number of chances created was pathetically way too low and, as I said on another thread, our best chance came from rapid movement in attack in the 94th minute when Kuyt hit the post. We are far too defensive minded and way too slow in our build up play which wouldn´t be so bad if we weren´t so awful when it comes to set piece defending!
