edddddddddie, how naive a comment is that?! A team of 10 or 11 Rooneys would be VERY futile! What about defenders - is Rooney a World Class Defender? Ok, so the nike advery showed him do well in goal but he could not play in every position.
And remember - a lot of skillful world teams have very skillful forwards but lack goalscoring power - why - they need someone more straight forward to put the ball in the back of the net, a poacher or a striker - like RVN or Shearer. You need a forward who doesn't mind being up front on his own - being patient, waiting for that one opportunity to get past the defenders.. we saw Rooney get frustrated being a lone striker in the WC.

Rooonaldo_utd. OK, noted about the goalkeepers having blinders - but isn't it the case that we only notice goalkeepers playing blinders when Utd struggle?! That may seem obvious - they are struggling because the goalkeeper is keeping everything out. But I say no... if you are playing well and striking well, a goalkeeper shouldn't be able to save the shots. It's all about placement, not just shots on target. A goalkeeper can be made to look good.

I've read the Leeds United post and all your recent comments and hats off to you for going into so much detail and not jumping on the debt-worry bandwagon.
I will consider what you've said and hope that Utd still are in a position to buy world-classs players. But I still think there is a cloud over Utd caused by either the Glazers' debts or the press reporting on this -- surely Utd players reading the papers would feel a little dejected?
