Non sequitur, correct (3 titles), incorrect (no European finals), straw man (seem to think...), non sequitur (RESPECT).

So let's see: one correct comment, one incorrect comment, one straw man and two non sequiturs.

I think I'm off to bed now; I'll get more intelligent conversation from the bed post.

Seen on Setanta sports news roundup:

    [
Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has attacked Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, and even called the Russian a “mafia member”.

Hoeness claims Abramovich manages to sign players thanks to the money he ‘steals’ from people when he ‘fixes’ the price of petrol.

The German has pointed out manners he considers scandalous and declared beating The Blues on the pitch would be his best response against ways he dislikes.

Those highly controversial quotes will add fuel to fire if Bayern and Chelsea face each other in the next Champions League.

“I’m irritated when I have to tank up every week,” he told Spox. “Those petroleum mafias steal our money and use it to sign footballers.

“This stinks and Abramovich is part of this.

“No, he’s not my friend. Those mafias rule the entire world and manipulate petrol’s price.

“Our best revenge would be to beat teams such as Chelsea. It would be a huge satisfaction.”

Well, it could. Or it could happen that for the third year in succession Chelsea score more points than any team, apart from Chelsea, have scored before. I wonder what you'd get better odds on.

Yes, if you had had no injuries last year you may well have won the league. Or you may not have. Even in all your championship years you never scored as many points over two seasons as Chelsea did the last two. This season we, and probably you, expected us to score 90+ points again. We haven't - we're a few results short of that and as Man U has done very well you won it. As I've said many times now, you deserved it.

We think that our injuries this season have been the major contributing factor in not getting an extra dozen or so points. You may disagree. You may reasonably say you've had injuries too. You have, and you have played well through them, on the whole.

So next season when we're injury free, and you're injury free, and Arsenal have Henry and van Persie back, it's going to be tough for the other 17, hmmm?

Oh, and just to fill in some of our blanks, we'll have Riberry, Kaka and David Villa in the squad too.

Well, first, your numbers don't add up. And your "if you had a few less scorers we'd have double your lot" is not quite so impressive when you realise your list misses out Essien scoring two against Arsenal (which is more than all your team managed) and Geremi scoring a cracker of a free kick.

Second, this is reminiscent of the scousers. They say We're a Big Club, We Have History, as if this means anything. You say We're Special, We Do It In Style. It's just meaningless arbitrary value judgements.

And you lot who keep going on about how embarrassing it is to win the League Cup. For heavens sake. Yes, it's all we won this year, so far. It would be nice to win more. Bit if I remember correctly, one League Cup was all you won in the previous three years, wasn't it? Your sneering doesn't seem quite so appropriate in that light.

If you say so. I remember a comment from Ferguson a few years when they were going through a bad patch when he said exactly that.

And he was right. Anyone who thinks Ferguson would rather play prettily and lose than play any other way and win is (a) probably a Man U fan and (b) probably believes in "the religion".

Seems about as blatant a dive as it goes. I think he needs to tighten up on the acting. His little boy "I was just running along and look what happened" act is wearing a bit thin on me. It's a shame it fools so many referees.

I'm not sure what you imagine your "behaving like Robert" to mean. I have never made any sound in any one or more minute silence in my life, whether I agreed with it or not.

I see it rather like making children pray in church or assembly. Watch them and none of them are concentrating. They all sneek peeks at everyone else to see what they're doing. You can make 80,000 people be quiet for a minute with this type of moral blackmail but you'll not know what proportion agree with the gesture and what proportion feel they are being treated like children.
