Yes, poor us. We have a manager who is not so obsessed with his own ego that he has to put everything down to evil conspiracies against him and his billionaire master (Chelsea got more yellow cards in Europe because everyone hates them?). Fergie has changed and adapted, and has a better understanding of the game than almost anyone, which is why he's an admirer of Mourinho. If this is a weakness, I wouldn't want a 'strong' manager.

Plus, if Sheringham can still be playing at 40, players like Scholes could do the same, especially as his game doesn't rely on pace. Solskjaer has been in such good form since getting back to fitness that he must have at least one or two seasons left in him beyond this one, and Giggs has enough skill besides his pace to keep going for a while. VDS is a goalie, and they've always had longer careers than any other position.
This is of course ignoring players we've had realistic links with - Hargreaves has been explicit in saying he'd like to come here, and Torres has looked a very realistic target for us. -

Don't worry, we all know the real Ian Harris can spell Giggs.. And his own first name... And knows that you capitalise the first letter of a name... And isn't a complete fuckwit.

Hardly surprising the press aren't cecking the facts. Why start now?
The fact that Lalas thinks Adu 'can't adapt to anything', if true, would relly rule him out of the Premiership. Good players have come here and failed to adapt, despite being extremely skillful (Veron being a good example, or Shevchenko for the time being, although he'd probably have scored more if he was at United), so maybe Adu would look ordinary here, but excel in Spain.
Still, I think you're right about the spin: THey want it to look like he chose to reject the Premiership, rather than have been rejected by United. -

Bardsley didn't capitalise? More like Gary Neville came back from his injury. Bardsley played fantastically, and really impressed, but Neville is first choice. I'd be genuinely shocked if Bardsley was sold.

That's hardly fair on Saha; you have no idea how much pain he's in. Besides, some players come back intending to play through the pain barrier and end up just making their injury worse, causing the team to suffer. Saha shows plenty of commitment on the pitch, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt off it.

How can Fergie know about them?
Scouts. United and most clubs (even Arsenal) spend a lot of time watching and getting to know players before they sign them. That's how they decide whether a player is right for them.
And no, we don't all have short memories. I am sorry to see Smith know, and I think that any club that gives him a long enough run to get his sharpness back will reap huge benefits, as shown by the Roma goal you mentioned. Unfortunately, that won't happen at United, and Fergie wouldn't do the club or the player the diservice of keeping him only to be on the bench. And try to avoid pointless exagerration, no one ever said he was the best striker in the world, or the best at the club. -

Didn't he miss a high profile one in Europe last season, or was that the one he converted after having missed a high profile one? Either way, he's missed and scored penalties. He's a good penalty taker, but Ronaldo's got nearly a 100% record, and Rooney's not too far behind.
That said, if a player's got the determination to take the penalty after he's been fouled, I'm willing to let him, especially if it's not 0-0. -

Apologies?
Fine, I'm sorry that your manager is admitting you don't have it in you to win the EPL.
I'm sorry you're so disappointed in your team that you'd rather spend your time posting at their rival's message board.
I'm sorry that you're reduced to Rafa's spin doctor, which I'm assuming is an unpaid position. -

Maybe they saw it as bad behaviour - I just stopped coming here for a while. Too many idiotic ABU's with bad English and worse manners, I just wasn't enjoying it, and those medals disappear if you don't have new posts. Heartbroken, I was, truly heartbroken.
