Regardless of whether or not the players were hurt (imagine how embarassed they'd be if the biggest injuries of the match were running into themselves!), Carrick saw the referee was with them. There was plenty of time for the ref to halt play before the goal, and after speaking to the players he chose not to. Frankly Wenger's behaviour was childish, he's just bitter he can't play a reduced strength side and walk all over us.
Brig the the next era of Tottenham glory days! -

I didn't see it as disrespectful, I took it as a tribute to the fans - a mark of their input to the team if you like, & acknowledgement of it being a shared achievment. I thought it was a very generous action, although his comments afterwards about not being happy kinda put a shadow over it.

Any ideas who's hit by it? I can't find any news about that.

West Ham subs apparently Walker, Dailly, Harewood, Collins, Reid,
Spurs subs Cerny, Murphy, Reid, Davenport, Barnard.
I wonder how bad it is? Apparently We were offered a delayed kick off, but no later than 5, & management decided that 2 hours wouldn't do anything. -

It wasn't just players, Martin Jol & Chris Hughton both said they got sick too (I forget where I read that, but I remember it because I'd been wondering if it was just the players). It may well have just been people from the club though, the hotel haven't released details of any other patrons getting ill (although I guess they'd wanna protect themselves), which would be very strange.
It's a horrible shame, but I do like the feeling hard done by! -

I like to think of myself as more of a Spurs fan than an Arsenal hater, but the lovely aidencpj's recent messages are causing me to feel quite smug about this.
If nothing else, how exciting! Everyone loves a bit of controversy! -

I find it a bit weird that there's nothing on BBC News 24 about this today, I was watching for ages earlier & they didn't mention it at all. Admittedly there's quite a lot of other big news at the moment, but if this is their big story, & they must have put a lot of background time & effort into this, you'd think they'd want to get as much out of it as possible.
Oooh, the seedy world of media, it's a dark place. -

What constitution? Are we in America?
Nice to see some constructive comments coming from Aidan - I mean that, parts of this thread have been proper points for discussion, which is what these boards are about.
Thanks, I much prefer that to the end of last season stuff, keep it please! -

I appreciate he must have been gutted to be taken off with 10 minutes to go, but King was out of order when he threw off his captain's armband in a childish strop. As captain he's supposed to be setting an example & bringing the team together, & the action of passing the band's important for solidarity, he showed the club disrespect and made a show of himself by not being able to do that.
That said, good to have him back.
Anyone else pooing their pants about Lennon's knee injury? According to the website he's out for at least a week (so definitely missing the UEFA game), and may need an operation. I know there are other options, but I feel a lot happier when I know he's one of them.
