I've got to be honest, I'm just not feeling it for next season. I'm seeing a 5-8th finish and a style of play that doesn't suit the team. I'm sorry for the pessimism, but I just don't think this 'Ramos Revolution' will become reality.

I'm just not confident about next season at the moment... I'm hoping the first couple of games will be exciting with minimal throwing away of points, as soon as we start playing well or have players showing flashes of brilliances (even if the flashes are as frequent as Lennon completing a cross) I'll start to get excited again and think we can win the league.
And that said, I think it says a lot about us as a team if me saying we'll be reaching quarter- and semi-finals means I'm being pessimistic!
I also think people are maybe forgetting about teams like Everton, Villa, Man City and - in particular - Portsmouth, they're teams to be reckoned with who will be massively improving over the summer. I think top 4's unrealistic for this season, but 5-7th should be expected/hoped for.
I'll be honest Iron, I reckon your lot might have a bit of a crazy season - I can see you racing from one end of the table to the other and back again. I don't know where I'm seeing you end up though. -

Saarf and Essex, you must be loving it! Hope your kiddies are enjoying it too. I'm moving back to London soon so hopefully I'll be able to get to a couple of games myself (although £33 minimum for a ticket'll be pushing it a bit). -

In fairness to Devilfish, his team have had it really hard. After all, starting at home to a newly promoted team, no-one wants that do they.
I've just checked, we've not started a season at home since 2004! And that was to Liverpool! Only one away team hasn't lost so far this weekend.
I reckon today might have been enough to bring out some old frailties in certain members of the team (Daws, Lennon, etc) - I hope not too badly.

Oooh it's good to be able to talk proper football with a fan of a team we're soon to be up against!
I think you guys'll do pretty well this season, I can see you holding a lot of the 'middle 4' (or 5) pack and you've got some good buys there - Diouf and Malbranque in particular, I was kinda hoping we'd hold on to Malbranque for a bit.
Saturday'll be fun! -

Hello sportsfans,
I've been thinking about this recently, partly because I can see Malbranque scoring against us today, and partly because all this Berb stuff has made me think back to his heyday, when more than once opposing fans applauded his stunning goals. Could you ever clap a goal scored against you, and why?
I'm not convinced I could if it was a sublime goal, I think that might hurt too much, but I almost don't mind when players with a good recent history for Spurs score against us. I think if I was there I'd be able to give players like Malbranque and Defoe a little applause for scoring - I think they served us well and deserve that kind of recognition from the fans. Especially if we won 4-1.
Anyone else? I'm expecting a lot of people to tell me I'm too sentimental now! -

Well said Harry, I entirely agree.
I've said before I want Levy out, my view is that he's playing at being a big boy and thinks he knows all about football management, but that's not his job. His job is to find the people who do know about football management and keep his nose out. He's very lucky Joe Lewis has more patience than he does - he'd have fired himself a long time ago! -

Yeah, the 'mickey mouse eurocup' holders deservedly beat the 'real' cup holders - all those CL snobs must be hurting a little bit from that!

That's what I mean - I don't think there was any intention of getting another striker in, he knew full well Berb would be gone for between 20 and 30 mil yest, there was no need to wait for him to go. I suspect it may be that having 4 strikers posed a problem before, and Ramos may be going for the lone forward (we'll have to see), but I also think there's an eye on getting Owen in January.
Just an opinion, and who knows whether or not I'm right, but I wouldn't be surprised. -
