I'm ignoring you Soppy, I've decided I don't like the cut of your jib. But don't worry, after this post I'll probably decide to either like it or be indifferent to it.

I hope Robbie gets a bloody awful reception, I hope he gets jeered like Campbell. I don't forgive or forget the man who claimed his heart was lilywhite months, perhaps only weeks, before telling everyone he'd been a Liverpool fan as a child (I think it was Saarf who pointed out he'd been a Celtic fan, I did a little research and found in interviews pre-May he'd said he was a Celtic fan, post he said Liverpool) and leaving. He's gonna be smug enough as it is considering our respective differences without thinking he's adored in the capital too.

As for the result... at the beginning of the season I wasn't confident about playing Liverpool, they're the 'big 4' team I felt most like we should/could beat but least like we would. Now, on our turf, with the confidence high and with a point to prove to Mr Keane... 2-2, Modric getting our second (and possibly us getting an own goal?).

I bought a freeview box especially to watch it, but I don't think it was working - Gomes looked pretty good on it!

Perhaps it's because he was back in Holland... do you think if we changed the stadium to "White van der Hart Lane" he'd be more consistent in the league??

It was great to see him play with a command of the pitch, he looked like he knew exactly what he was going for every time. I know I say it all the time, but I hope Bale and O'Hara get more minutes together; they're both pretty young so are developing but I think they could get a good partnership together on the left in time.

After chatting to some of the "Living Room Girls" (Manchester footballers hangout), it seems he freely admits that's an outrageous lie and he was a gooner as a kid, but is a professional now.

In fairness to him, we've got a new team and he's not exactly had the steadiest of seasons so far, what with the whole Ramos debarcle, if we're letting the likes of Pav and Modric have time to settle we've got to give him a little while too. He was pretty good at first, let's see how he evens out over a whole season.

It's not his fault Lennon got good again, he can't have been expecting that!

Can't argue with most of that really...

I'm not sure what to do about Bale. I wondered if dropping him for a while might help, at the moment he knows he's a preferred player, in a 4-4-2 it's either him LM & A-E LB or him LB & O-Hara LM, so perhaps putting him to the bench for a while might give him some bite back... then I wondered if he's just getting a mid-season slump and actually the break might do him well... but it wasn't until watch MotD last night it occurred to me it might be confidence.

He doesn't strike me as the type of player to get complacent, particularly if there's any truth to this talk of JJ getting stripped of the vice-captaincy and going up for sale http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/tottenham/4221269/Tottenham-manager-Harry-Redknapps-row-with-Jermaine-Jenas.html. It might be that he's tired, he only came back from a bad injury in the summer and has played most games since, which means that a spell on the bench might do him some good. However, if it is confidence then that could be the last nail in the coffin...

Carrying on like this won't do him any good. If he's going to be playing I think he needs some stability in his role, and I know I've been reluctant to admit it before but his defending isn't up to it atm. The problem is, I'd much rather have O'Hara on the left of midfield now, so what do we do with him???

I reckon it all comes down to training ground fire at the moment, if his heart's not in it he can bench warm for a little while, but if he really wants it then whack him on the pitch - even if he's out of position it'll be better than some of those dozy wasters we've been watching lately.

Bit of an essay here, and I've been popping back to it on and off for a while, so I may be repeating myself. If so, sorry!

Oh, it's official now, as is the fact that he's cup tied for CC because he was an 87th minute sub once, and he'll make his debut against the goons!

And we're out for the window - no Quaresma.

    I'm exhausted!

Yeah, that's grating on me a bit - a lot of fans and media seem to think we're going to be a one man show, and if we stay up it'll be completely down to Keane and we should be grateful to him for bestowing his presence on us and offer up our first born sons to him... He can't have mine. I thought we'd be alright on Sunday before I believed he was coming back and I still think we will now. He'll play a part in it, but so will every other member of the squad (right down to the John Bostocks and the Rochas).

Worringly, I think some of these look a tad optimistic - our records against Newcastle and Sunderland are pretty bad, and I'm not convinced now's going to the be time that changes.

This leaves us in a spot of bother.

Although, many people have said 40 points won't be enough this season, but I reckon it could be less needed - if they carry on getting shared around so much it's going to be difficult for anyone to climb the points ladder, for example when was the last time the bottom team had anywhere near this many points at this stage in the season?

I still say we'll be alright, just disappointed we're even having this discussion.

Tell you what Mike, seeing as you think we're in for a beating how about I take your ticket, what with me being a believer? ;)

No? I'll even throw in a rubix cube with most of the colour stickers still on it...

I'm torn between thinking it's going to be a pretty boring low scoring match or that one teams going to take a surprise pounding... I'm gonna say 1-0 to us to 83 mins (Pav goal in the first 15 mins) then Ronaldo sets up Giggs or Scholes or some other old timer, 2-1 in et.

A tad optimistic perhaps, but there's no place for realism for a fan at a time like this!
