    "Is Woodgate still alive?"

I see my question's been answered - allegedly alive, but no-one's seen any proof for some time. Oh dear, oh dear dear dear.

Fuck it, I reckon we accept our defence will be shite on a stick and throw it all forward: 0-5-5, with the defence (that's right, the defence of 0) and attack made up solely of midfielders, and the midfield made up of whatever scraps of defenders and strikers we can find.

Although, I half-seriously think John could have a point with Pav and Crouch at the back; they know how CFs work, they're tall, they're used to getting in the way, they're meant to be able to hit a target so should be able to hoof it upfield... they're bound to be better than many of our options. Give 'em Keane and BAE up front and we'll be laughing.

    Honest Guv.

Best be good though, I'm taking my brother for a treat for his 30th and he's not been to the Lane for many a year.

He'll never leave, he's the next Ledley. He'll leave on a stretcher when he's around 30 and has no knees left.

    Fact.

Apparently it's just me, but I thought we were lucky today. IMHO most of the decisions went our way and, while Liverpool were playing a bit dirty at times, we benefitted from some home side refereeing (or, as I like to call it, Top 4 Syndrome ;) ).

That combined with it just not being our day on several occasions (at least twice it seemed harder to miss than score, but we managed it), I thought we'd get beat or scrape a draw. I'd me livid if I was a Scouser... but I'm not, so chuffed as a button!

I had a flutter this wknd for the first time in ages, our result meant I only ended up 1 pound 15 down - if bloody Bolton and Birmingham had done what they should I'd have been 300 quid richer by now! (I feel like I may have already written that somewhere, apologies if so)

I thought we had him from fairly young... apparently not.

Such a shame about this, but even I've given up on him now - apparently he was on TalkSport last week talking about how he's been turfed out of WHL and told there's no way back. I'm a fan of his, but the boy needs to cut his ego and shut his mouth.

Can we still dock his wages while he's in loan? Not for this one, but any other idiocies.

Honestly, I'd be happy to have Inter again; we beat them over 2 legs and we topped their group, we had a silly 20 minutes but we were top for the other 160.

The one team I'd be really scared of were Man U; in an ideal world we'd have Barca in the semis after they've knocked out MU. I agree about getting a top team being best for us, and ideally I'd want to avoid English teams where possible. The 1 negative we have now is that people know to be scared of us even if they're not really scared of us.

I almost think I'd rather get knocked out by a top team in the next round then through to a (comparatively, obviously - no 'poor' teams left now) poor one and get spanked in the semis. We've earned respect because of the teams and way we've played, it'd be nice for that to continue.

I've read a couple of things recently which have said something along the lines of the only way 6th place will get Europa is if City both get 4th and win the FA cup. This doesn't make any sense to me; surely 5th and FA Cup winning would be enough? As I understand, the cup runner up doesn't get it under any circumstances anymore... can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Not that it makes any difference to us, natch, just curious... ;)
