Hello all, how's it going this fine Sunday evening?

Oh dear, has The Rising Sun sunk? I'm sorry, we don't take Chelski deserters at White Hart Lane, perhaps QPR'll have you?

In reply to whoever it was who said something about us nicking a point off Chelsea, was it just me who thought we thoroughly deserved that point? Seemed to me in the first half we had control most of the time, it's just that we didn't seem likely to do anything with it and when Chelsea took control they did. In the second half, there was only one team who looked likely to score again, even with that last minute onslaught... or was I getting carried away again?

Either way, I don't think there was any nicking of points, I think it was a sharing of spoils that we could've had to ourselves - we're generous like that!

I think the opposite - we've made more than we've spent during this transfer window, and we had no need to sell Berbatov, but Utd repeatedly said that they weren't going to bow to our payment demands. Well, what do you know, they've given us more than we asked for! Possibly the first time ever, I think Levy's shown some business savvy. We'd never have got a deal like the one we did without City's last minute bid, so how could we have settled it earlier? We've ended up with three strikers who all deserve a first team place, and considering Ramos likes to play with a lone striker that's more than enough.

We've made far more money from Berb than expected, and let's be honest; by the time we're proper competitors with Utd Berb'll be too old to matter. By proper competitors, I don't mean the occasional cup meeting or owt, obviously we'll still have that, I mean if we were ever to be title contenders or consistently make CL.

I think it's an inevitable job very well done.

I agree wholeheartedly about wanting the return of sportsmanship - sadly there aren't many people out there who will show anger to their own team for cheating, but I like the fact that Zokora has (pretty much...) cut out his diving etc because it got such bad reaction from the fans.

However, I'd probably find it pretty hard to watch if we literally gave away a goal. While it would be the fairest thing to do, once the adrenaline and competitiveness is pumping it's not that easy, especially when it'll put you into a losing position. I think Steve Coppell was right to offer the replay, either having that or perhaps even disallowing the goal post-match would be the best way forward. I think that the FA should be big enough to acknowledge that this was a cock up, and was a one-off situation, so should be willing to bend the standard rules accordingly. Whatever they do, they need to do something; they should know that FIFA'll be watching this mess and if we ever want to hold a euro or world cup again they need demonstration that we have a strong central body.

I'm about at the stage where I'm ready to attept he's not up to the job, while I still think there's potential I think it could be a Lennon (aka never recognised). I'd forgotten about his injuries RAMBR0, as I remember he got something fairly nasty but not bad enough to keep him out for too long, but you're right; that may be affecting him. He also had migranes for over a month as I remember it, which was a bit of a concern - ordinarily I can't imagine them being serious enough on their own to keep you out for that long, and he does head the ball a lot, not to mention have the odd headfirst collision... However, this was all a fairly long time ago, and if he won't/can't step up to the plate now he never will.

On telly on Thursday... on ITV4.

Why do 5 hate us this year??? I think they've shown us once, and that was our 3.15 kick pff. I don't have cable and it's getting bloody expensive to go to the pub every time we're on TV (which on other channels is quite a lot).

    Grr...

The4y might be one and the same, but NOTW always seems that step worse - the only publication with "News" in the title that contains nothing of the sort!

A nice Sunday afternoon with the Financial Times and a pipe & slippers, now you're talking ;)

Yeah, Sky Sports commentators had a little chuckle about that on D-Day when the signing was confirmed; stranger things have happened.

147-5 to the good guys. Ronaldo'll get two in the first 17 mins, just because I hate him and it'll upset me, then we'll go all goals galore in the last 10-15 mins of the first half, they'll come out strong and Vidic'll get one, then we'll go goals mental 65-75mins including Gomes getting 7 but in the right end, and with 10 mins to go they'll get another two in 9 seconds, Ronaldo will complain that he should've got a hattrick but Dawson - who will have come on because Danny Welbeck will have broken Woodgate's leg (but don't worry, Woody'll come out fighting by Wednesday) - saved it with his face, and there'll be tense moments all around the stands as the last few minutes tick down on the clock (who better to throw away a lead like that then us?) but as Zokora launches a screamer all the way from towards our own goal down the pitch and into the goal, scorching a hole in the net as it flies through the back of it and somewhere into deep space, we'll accept the cup's all ours for the second year running.

Is Vidic still injured? That's the only possible flaw I can see to my prediction...
