Ok time to eat humble pie, Lamps played great last night, not just the goal, but the play with Cole and ball to Robben was fantastic. Maybe that will spark him into form for England. I still wouldn't swap him for Gerrard but I am 100% biased. Great goal, good performance by all your guys and congrats on all but qualification. Why though does Mourinho say things like 'Rijkaard is a lucky guy to have such great players in his team, I wish I was that lucky' when he has spent millions assembling a formidable squad who had just gone out and outplayed Barca for a second time running and should have won the game. Act with dignity man, and then maybe if (and hopefully not) the reds go out in the latter rounds I can genuinely support you guys as an English team in europe as I did with Fergie in 99 and Arsenal in last years final. He makes it so hard for a neutral fan to get behind Chelsea.

I read that Mr Abramovich might soon be subject to a rather messy divorce after a recent extra marital dalliance.. Might this
(a) Means he becomes somewhat more careful with his funds affecting Chelsea's spending power meaning future signings might be the likes of Robbie Savage and Paul Dickov*
(b) Gives Chelsea to his missus as part of an out of court settlement. Chelsea then end up sponsored by Chanel No 5, play in pink, and end up bankrupt after the purchase of Fancesco Totti for 75million because the ex Mrs Abromovich thinks he's fit.
(c) Roman now single decides sod football I can live out the dream of a playboy and spend all my time chasing skirt. He sleeps with a number of wives including Elen Riveres and Carly Zucker. The players go on strike as a result and are relegated to Division One by the FA.
Whatever happens can't be a good thing. Anybody worried?? (Ok I know he'll still have a couple of billion squid left after losing half)!
* No disrespect intended towards Dickov or Savage (Although Savage, you are a rubbish, diving, complaining, welsh git with #$%$ hair!) -

I agree a bit with the playing as individuals comment, too many long shots and lack of build up play around the penalty area of the oopsition. Can't see where you are coming from on Pennant tho' he was playing down the side I was sitting in the 1st half and I thought he played well, always available and looking to bang crosses in. He gave the left back a torrid time. We don't have enough belief or fight. Why? I have no idea. It did strike me against Bolton nearly everyone in that side is a large, powerful athlete, and Blackburn were quite physically strong. Alonso, Finnan, Pennant, Garcia, Bellamy, Aurelio, even Reina all were involved Saturday but don't fit that mould. Maybe that is too many that don't match up to the demands of todays top level premiership demands in one side.

Oh thats right 18 times, and believe me the world did exist before the Premier League!, Any team would trade the european cup for a league title nowadays, including Mourinho (so he can go on about being the 'special' one again, the twat!), Ferguson so he could prove 1999 wasn't a flash in the pan and Wenger. We have won 5 times whatever anyone says, and we might add to it this season.
I supported the reds because of family and getting to watch a quality passing game not trophies. Although getting to celebrate them is a nice bonus! -

Personally we have a lot of players who are mid table performers. Can we then moan about being mid table when we show no fight. Garcia was a bit part player in Spain, only Everton were in for Momo (he is not good enough in possession for Chelsea, Arsenal, United) Newcastle for Kuyt as all the top clubs had big doubts about him, Pennant was one of the better players in a relegated Birmingham team, as was Crouch in a relegated Southampton side, Bellamy from a mid table Blackburn, Finnan from a mid/lower table Fulham, Gonzalez from a mid table Spannish side, etc etc. Only Alonso was recognised as genuine quality when we bought him and believe me he would get in the sides of the other top teams because his passing is so good. (I see in most of your amended line ups Alonso gets excluded which is ridiculous). Mind you the only time RAfa went top class was with Morientes and he was a failure too. (With us not now he is back on the continent). I think we should get resigned to being a top six team because we don't have the money to push on. When you see United full to the rafters with 78000 odd fans, or Chelsea spending 30m on a 31 yr old, or Arsenal in their sparkling new stadium and even away playing football that is out of this world we shouldn't expect to match them for success and quality. What we can expect is pride and passion in the shirt though. These players need to make up for the lack of top class ability with effort, committment and fight. YNWA means the fans are with them in that fight and they have our support always. Come on you reds!!!!!

Well whatever the truth he played a damn sight better on Wednesday and lets hope for another blinder on Sat. Benitez recent comments seem to be preparing the ground for a permanent spell in the centre of midfield as long as Stevie can prove he can be disciplined in his attacking. Come on Stevie, listen, learn and make yourself the best central midfielder in the world!!!!!!!

This news is a bloody diasaster. We've been hawked around as a club now for ages, and the board have toyed with many bidders in an effort to get as much cash as possible for the shareholders. No-one is looking out for the interests of the club in the long term at the moment, and the board, aka Parry and Moores would have sold out to the Thai prime minister who was using the money of his poverty starved country for his hobby. There is nothing binding about Giletts offer, and he is the only bidder now!! After years of stability andbeing so well run, everyone in the upper echelons seems to have lost their marbles, and they certainly aren't being true to their word. If the DIC bid was in the long term interests of the club then why haven't they done it? What a load of shite!

Looks like Rafa is looking at this young Scunthorpe striker Sharp. I have watched a bit of Nugent lately and he is worth a gamble I reckon, with a bit of the Owens about him. Saw him interviewed last night too and what a breath of fresh air. Every other England player felling the pressure and you couldn't get the smile of his face...Class! Nice to see a hungry young player just playing for the joy of it!!! I'm excited about some of our young talent coming thru the youth team too! Maybe Rafa won't need too big a warchest, or can spend it on a couple of real quality rather than quantity! Seems having the money has not gone to his head anyway! YNWA
