So we have no Bale or Modric at the moment. Two of our best most creative players this season. And with Dawson out with a ban amongst the other injuries we have.
What do you wish to see as our line-up and formation for tonight?

    I'm hoping for 4-4-2 with
    Gomes
    Hutton, Bassong, Gallas, BAE
    Lennon, Jenas, Kranjcar, Pienaar
    VdV, Defoe

Fat chance it will happen, But that's what i'd be putting out on the pitch at Blackburn

    Well said Rafa!
It is indeed absurd that the fans expect loyalty from players earning a poultry and meagre £40,000 a week EACH.
What with ticket prices remaining frozen the last few decades at £2.50 a pop, and replica shirts at a reasonable £5.
I really can't imagine where Mr Levy gets the cash to pay the players

Imagine as you said... one of you gets injured after just a year, and cannot play any longer. That's just in excess of £2,000,000 in the bank. Not even the national average salary...
Yes! and all that hard training! And that packed calender... it's almost as if you had to work! And Full-time too!?!
    Bloody cheek of it.
    You have my utmost sympathies.

Could have been worse though! At least you don't have to put up with that over-rated no talent Lampard and his Deluded Roman emperor .

As far as i'm concerned, we are long overdue an overhaul of our national side.
Our so called "Golden Generation" have repeatedly underperformed, underachieved and been overpaid and overhyped.
Time to bin the lot of them and start afresh!
The new squad members won't learn anything valuable from the old lot! And if anything they will be tainted if they play alongside them in the National side.
Terry, Rio, Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, Cashley... etc never could get to grips with international football, so what's to learn from them except failure!?!

It's just a shame we have Capello for one more tournament as he'll pick a few of the young'uns and subject them to his ridiculous squad selection and farcical tactics.

We need a new manager now who'll boot out the "Bling Generation" and polish the gems we have now.

It has been a very average WC so far, yes! And i think it's safe to put at least some of the blame on this new "beach" ball. Even our Gomes was last night saying how "horrible" this new ball is.
So far every team has failed to impress, except of course the Germans. Who are strangely enough, the only league that have actually practiced with this new ball in their league for the past few months. Now that's preparation! You have to admire how they think and show so much attention to detail. And yet they play some very exciting football.
I have no idea why in each of the recent World Cups, they always have to mess with something so basic as the ball! It makes no sense to me. Surely they'd like to have the best players playing the best football. Then they should keep to what they play with each week.
I've obviously never played with this official ball, but it really does look very much like one of those that you get in supermarkets in a set for 3 for £5.

I know it's only the Daily Star... but still

I don't like it at all... I much prefer we stayed a British owned club. But i guess this is what's happening in the modern game, we're all being slowly assmilated into the borg (US/Arab owned) collective... is resistance futile?
I feel it really is a lottery.

I agree that we should sell them both. We've had the best from Keane, he's been a great servant to us. Jenas never really performed, only the occasional glimpse of talent from him. I find him too frustrating. I read today again somewhere that Mourinho may go after him for Real Madrid. I really can't understand his fascination with Jenas (not that i think Jenas is a bad player, he just hasn't done it for Spurs), but i do wish him (and Keano) the best should they both leave. Neither one will be happy being kept just for League Cup games. They're above that.

I'd like Harry to bring in some of the youngsters for the next league cup campaign. John Bostock, Dos Santos, Danny Rose... and the like. Would be interesting to see how they come along in fully competitive games.

    Sour Grapes!

A good player, but with a truly appaling/immature attitude.
I used to feel for him, even after the whole FA Cup fiasco.
    But not now.
He says he was shut out at Ar$e&all, and the same at Spurs... so basically wasn't good enough for either.
Take it like a man Jamie! At least he's at a massive club now... he can truly fulfill his potential.
He needs to grow up, be patient and work harder. It worked for Bale! and now look at him!
Bale is class, Jamie an Ar$e

There's a rumour somewhere that Berbato$$ may return to WHL...

Do we need him? ... Too bloody right we do!
Do we want him? .... hmmmmmmmmmmmm... probably not! lol

Obviously it's all gossip now... and I reckon there's more chance he'll go abroad should he decide to leave Manure.
But I have mixed feelings about him making a return to Spurs.
He was highly disrespectful to us, and although we undoubtedly miss his talents and could really use his class upfront... I'm not sure he'd be admired as he once was.
Having said that, could you imagine him playing upfront with Bale, Lennon, VdV, Modric and Sandro just behind?

Sounds good to me... If only we had him this season.
