No malice just congrats on last nights hard fought victory. Yes I'm hurting for us not being in the CL next season but we ended 4th again so have obviously improved under Harry.
I hope your Russian gives Di Matteo the job full time. After beating Barca and then Bayern to win it, he has certainly earned it. All the best for next season and hope we finish above you again LOL.. -

OMG OMG ,,,,, Fantastic Chelsea. Well done lads, what a game and what a hero is Didier Drogba. The miriacle of the gods. Bayern had so many opportunities but were unfortunate. Chelsea persevered and got the result. Nail biting time all throught the game but they did it. Ashley Cole was excellent and Torres played well and young Bertrand was a credit. Roberto Di Matteo is also a hero for the club. CONGRATULATIONS OVER AND OVER AGAIN

...would have been Chelsea's if the emphasis of performances had led to a 1-0 win over Newcastle at home and a 1-0 win at Anfield. Instead Chelsea didn't show at either game!
Now - if RDM has got it wrong and put all his eggs in the Munchen basket, then those defeats will suddenly become , shall we say, CRITICAL.
And if the blues triumph over the Bavarians then all of a sudden it won't matter.
Just as JT's slip in Moscow cost Avram Grant his job within 48 hours, maybe his knee in the back of Sanchez might account for another manager. Either way it's a bad season for JT. He'll be hurting right through the match tomorrow. It's hard to forgive him, really! -

I already walked past B Power Station and across the Battersea Bridge maybe two hundred times (each way) on the way from Clapham Jct to the Bridge.
A shorter journey might make an earlier arrival home.
But the cost of stabilising those smoke towers will be - well - .... high ? -

Football fans are not necessarily fickle, Boxer.. but they / we are guilty of becoming tribal in the pursuit of a group identity that otherwise would not exist.
Billy Connolly does a good sketch upon observation of the fans at a match who are unanimous and perfectly choreographed in their singing with nobody on the edge appearing to be struggling with the learning of the song.
How else do you explain away the Postcode gangs?
It's the re-appearance of tribalism when it could have long gone!
Let's hope the chelsea-tribe make a lot of aggressive noises at Munich and replace wars with sporting contest! -

ALL football fans are fickle.
I started supporting Chelsea after their 1970 FA Cup victory over Leeds Unired. They then won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1971 and were runners up in The League Cup in 1972. EVERY child supporting a team will go for the most succesful team when they are old enough to realise/follow football.
I didn't see all the so called Chelsea fans supporting us now during the 80's when, although we had a bloody good team (Spackman, Nevin, Dixon, Speedie, Pates, McLoughlin - and Eddie our goalkeeper whose name I can never spell!!)
But it's 'horses for courses' - many Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal,Chelsea supporters (and now Man City), follow their teams purely because they are succesful - not that they will go to the ground and watch them. No child wants to be the one supporting the team who does no good/wins nothing. I started supporting Chelsea because they were winning in the 70's - probably the same as may other clubs supporters at one time or another.
So let's not quote 'statistics' - they are not worth the effort !! -

Well what can I say you chaps have managed it again. Well done. To be honest today's game was a 50/50 for either team. Prior to the game, I think Liverpool were down as the favourites but it was anyone's predition. Great for Drogba to make his part of history by scoring in four finals. Pity Torres did not get a chance but Di Matteo made the right decision to hold back.
Can anyone confirm has Ashley Cole made history too by having 8 winners medals (4xArsenal and now 4xChelsea) ?
Once again Congratulations Chelsea and good luck in the European Cup. Tall order though ...... -
