I agree with this comment as i don't think many people understand what the glazers have done nor do i understand as to WHY the glazers have done it!! but i think these football clubs should stop allowing themselfs being taking over not just by americans but everyone else such as chinese, russians, ect,ect and go back to basics!!

Like you point out...different groups with differing agendas.

Still have to ask the question..Why does the Glazer family now owe more than they originally borrowed to buy the club, given that some of the asset worth has reduced and player aquisition has had a positive result??

There is nothing positive for Utd. How on earth are you going to replace to old gurad over the next couple of years? Its just not possible. Take a look at the players that need replacing. VDS, Brown, O'shea, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Hargreaves, Park, Owen and Berbatov. You can't do it.

Then look at Arsenal we have Almunia, Rosicky, Eduardo and Arshavin getting on a bit.. Add to this that Utd have 5 times the amount of debt of Arsenal, and it appears Utd are gonna have to look to the bargain basement to compete.

Rooney's world cup debacle has destroyed any remote chance he had, after Utds european exit. Messi too looked very ordinary, hard to see the title going other than Sneijder now.

I don't know how you can argue that Wayne Rooney is better than Messi. Rooney is a great player, but Messi is of another class. My ranking goes: 1 Messi, 2Rooney, 3 Xavi, 4 Ronaldo, 5 Kaka, 6 Iniesta, 7 Villa, 8 Robben, 9 Pique, 10 Drogba.

Your comment isn't actually correct. Its the problem you have when you have the media looking for stories and a Supporters trust who have their own agendas and like to spin things to fit these agendas.

The Club made a decent profit after servicing the debt. Its the holding company that you are talking about and that's a very complex situation.

Its the holding company where the PIK's come into play. The PIK's are in the Glazers name but the money they got from the PIKs had to be transferred to the holding company so the club could be bought. As such that money and the costs of that money has to be accounted for in the Holding companies accounts. Even with that taken into account the holding company would still generally make a small profit in a normal year (ie a year where 80mill wasn't raised in selling a player).

The reason it usually posts a loss are the non-cash deductions that are made for accounting reasons. The most noticeable are the goodwill deductions. Goodwill deductions are accounting write offs related to overpaying for purchasing an asset. A company is only really worth its assets and that meant the Glazers paid over 300mill over the asset value for United. This overpayment is written off in accounting as Goodwill payments usually over 10 years. So in excess of 30mill is being written off the value on the holding companies books each year which alone accounts for most of the yearly losses shown on the holding companies books before other non-cash deductions are taken

The positive thing about this is by posting a loss due to non-cash deductions the Glazers have saved having to pay over £80mill of actual cash in corporation tax that the club would have been due to pay

Since when do you play football with your arm? Why would an arm injury have much effect on how someone plays? Countless examples of players doing well and scoring great goals with a cast on.

Fabregas has played about an hour of World Cup football so far hasn't he - and is well supported by a lot of players who are playing well as a team and as individuals. Not the case for any England player though.

The fact that Van Persie missed so mch football but has properly recovered from his injury means he is going into the world cup fresh so to speak. The likes of Rooney, Terry, Lampard etc played an average of 60 games last season, by comparison.

One of Inesta's injuries was a hamstring strain. Hardly the same as ankle ligament damage is it? Also, you may remember Rooney missing the Spurs match with a groin injury after supposedly recovering from the ankle problem.

I wasn't actually using Rooney's injury as the excuse for his world cup form, but I was saying that since that injury, he attempetd to return (twice) too early and obviously has not properly recovered form since. Hasn't played well since the injury for United so it is not surprising that he hasn't performed in a very poor England side either.

PLEASE. Iniesta has been injured twice since march and is still playing in great form. Robin Van Persie missed the entire premier league season due to injury but is still in great form. Didier Drogba broke his arm a WEEK before the world cup started and was determined enough to slap a piece of plastic on it and still looked threatening most of the time with A BROKEN ARM. Cesc Fabregas broke his leg at the end of the season premier league season and is in solid form coming off the bench. Wayne Rooney and the rest of the England squad just don't have the desire.

    Now then - here's a controversial subject!

Being an ardent WBA fan, you can imagine how Baggies supporters like me felt when we saw the first few fixtures for the coming season.

Forgive me for being cynical, but just how does a newly-promoted team get to play its first four away games at Chelski, Anfield, Arsenal and Man U - couldn't be that it's yet another sign of the highly suspect, nay CORRUPT, nature of the "Greed League, could it (surely not)?

It just stinks. it really does! Game over methinks.
