Sanchez was benched during last week's 7-6 win over Arizona and replaced by third-string quarterback Greg McElroy while back-up Tim Tebow was inactive due to a rib injury, leading to speculation over who would play against Jacksonville.
The Jets (5-7) still have an outside chance at a wildcard spot in the playoffs should they run the table and win their last four games starting with the Jaguars (2-10).
Sanchez was replaced by McElroy in the third quarter last week against the Cardinals after throwing three interceptions with the Jets trailing 3-0.
McElroy led New York on their only scoring drive of the game, culminating in a one-yard touchdown pass in the Jets victory.
Following an 8-8 campaign in 2011, Sanchez has been shaky this year, throwing 13 interceptions and 12 touchdown passes after helping the Jets reach the AFC title game in each of his first two seasons.
The 26-year-old is guaranteed $8.25 million next year after signing a contract extension following the 2011 season. (Reporting by Larry Fine in New York, Editing by Ken Ferris)
