Thomas Morgenstern, Andreas Kofler, Gregor Schlierenzauer and Martin Koch headed to Slovenia safe in the knowledge that their place atop the standings was safe.
But after a slow start from Morgenstern in what was the penultimate World Cup event, Kofler, Schlierenzauer and finally Koch handed them the victory to further increase their unassailable lead over Norway.
Norway finished just behind Austria in Slovenia to hold onto second place in the overall standings, 219 points ahead of Germany, who finished third in Planica, with just one round remaining.
There was disappointment for the home crowd as Slovenia finished just off the podium in fourth.
