    Barca keen on striker

The Catalan giants have been keen on the Italy international for some time, and were rumoured to be making an enquiry five seasons ago, when Giovinco was at Empoli on loan from Juventus.

The 25-year-old began his career with the Turin side, who still own 50% of the rights to the player, and his agent Antonio D'Amico is assured that he could become 100% Barca after his participation in Euro 2012.

"I know that Barcelona has followed Giovinco for some time," D'Amico told Sportal.it.

"That a club like Barcelona shows an interest in him gives us great pleasure.

"Giovinco is an important player, he is talented, technically gifted and it's normal that clubs are interested in him."

Giovinco has 10 goals in 28 league games for Parma to his name this season.

"He is doing really well and he will play at Euro 2012," D'Amico said.

"As (Italy coach Cesare) Prandelli has stated, he is one of the most talented players in Italy and the European Championship will give him an opportunity to showcase his talent."

Parma currently sit 15th in the Serie A table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
