Birmingham captain Curtis Davies already has his eye on another promotion push next season.
Davies thumped home a second-half equaliser in Wednesday night's 2-2 draw with Blackpool in the second leg of their npower Championship play-off semi-final. But Blues missed out on a trip to Wembley as an own goal from the former Aston Villa and West Brom defender separated the sides in the first encounter at Bloomfield Road.
"It's hard to think of next season when you've just finished a 62-game season but if we can keep most of the squad together I'm sure we can give it a good go," Davies told Birmingham's official website, before claiming a heavily congested schedule might have eventually taken its toll on Chris Hughton's men.
"It's a brilliant group of lads and brilliant staff. It has been a bit of a rollercoaster but it has been good.
"The main thing is next year there won't be as many games.
"Hopefully it will make a big difference."
