Mark Boucher had to leave the field with an eye injury during the afternoon session on the opening day of South Africa's two-day tour match against Somerset at Taunton.
The 35-year-old wicketkeeper was hit in the face when the ball ricocheted off the stumps as Gemaal Hussain was bowled by Imran Tahir.
Boucher was standing up to the stumps to the leg-spinner, wearing a cap, rather than a helmet. After treatment on the field for a cut, he was helped off and taken to hospital. His place behind the stumps taken by AB De Villiers.
