Anderson, from Craigmillar, Scotland, claims his coffee was spiked. In the weeks after the fight, it was reported he had personal problems and had decided to vacate the title rather than keep Paul Smith waiting for a shot.
It turns out he was effectively stripped of the title, pending appeal.
His manager, Steve Wood, told the Daily Record: “Kenny has been fighting the case and it looks like he has lost it. He claims someone spiked his coffee with amphetamine.
“It was kind of accepted but he has now been told it is your responsibility what goes in your body and has been banned. This is the final decision so that’s it.”
Having served over a year already, Anderson will be able to re-apply for his license in October next year.
