Cardiff are close to completing a deal for South Korea international Kim Bo-Kyung.
The Bluebirds have been pursuing the 22-year-old Cerezo Osaka star for the past few weeks and the club's chief executive Alan Whiteley has now admitted they hope to finalise a deal shortly.
"We think we've made good progress on the negotiations and we're hopeful we'll be able to close that within the next few days," Whiteley told BBC Sport.
"Like all these things you always hesitate to say too much until the ink is on the paper, and obviously there's work permit issues as well, but I think we've made pretty good progress."
Kim, a left-winger, is a member of the South Korea Olympic football squad.
