Celtic and Rangers kept apart in Cup draw

Rangers and Celtic were kept apart in the Scottish Communities League Cup quarter-final draw, but remain on collision course after both were handed home ties.

Rangers will face Inverness at Ibrox after beating Motherwell 2-0 in the third round, while St Johnstone - who beat Celtic in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League last month - visit Parkhead.

Aberdeen have been handed a home tie against St Mirren, while Hearts visit Tannadice looking for a repeat of the 3-0 victory over Dundee United which they secured last month.

Celtic and St Johnstone will play their tie on Tuesday October 30 – as will Aberdeen and St Mirren – with the other two quarter-finals being staged the following evening.
