Evatt, 31, is the Seasiders' longest serving player and has been hindered by the problem for some time, making the last of his 12 appearances this term in the 1-1 Championship draw at Bristol City on November 17.
"He's been down to London to see on of the main specialists and he'll now be out for the foreseeable future," said caretaker boss Steve Thompson on Blackpool's official website.
