Alastair Cook arrived at Lord's this morning as speculation about Andrew Strauss' future as England captain intensified.
The England and Wales Cricket Board's managing director Hugh Morris will address the media at 1200pm today at Lord's in a hastily-convened press conference that was announced late last night. The media conference - and lack of any announcements from the ECB - has prompted speculation that Strauss was to end his 50-Test tenure in charge.
If there was any doubt about the nature of the announcement, that appeared to dissolve when Cook, who took over as one-day captain last year, made his way to the home of cricket in a suit and tie.
Cook would not answer questions as he made his way towards the ECB's offices, but smiled when asked if he was set to be unveiled as Strauss' successor.
