Scotland prop Geoff Cross has signed a two-year contract extension with Edinburgh, the club have announced.
The 29-year-old, who has eight caps and appeared in last year's Rugby World Cup, has agreed to stay at Murrayfield until 2014. Cross, a qualified doctor, is eager to improve further and is targeting success in Sunday's match with London Irish, as Edinburgh seek to advance in the Heineken Cup.
"Edinburgh Rugby provide me with an environment in which I can improve and flourish," Cross said. "There's a good set of guys here and I'm enjoying the challenges that we've got ahead of us."
He added: "I'm very confident that we can continue to progress. There's the right environment to train well, train hard and challenge each other and that's something I enjoy."
Also agreeing new deals on Wednesday were 23-year-old Lewis Niven and 19-year-old Robin Hislop.
Niven has also signed until 2014, while Hislop's deal is until 2015.
Edinburgh head coach Michael Bradley said: "It's fantastic for the club to be able to announce the contract extensions of three very talented and technical athletes at such an exciting time for the club.
"It's testimony to Edinburgh Rugby's ambition that, at a time when everyone's caught up in the Heineken Cup hysteria of today, there's a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes to ensure we're back here tomorrow."
