CSKA were hit with the fine by Europe's ruling body while the team's fans have been banned from the return match at Poland's Resovia Rzeszow next Wednesday.

CEV officials imposed the sanctions after local fans burned torches inside the venue, forcing the match and live television coverage to be disrupted for 20 minutes.

"The European Volleyball Confederation are...obliged to continue their efforts and tighten up the existing provisions likely to fight against any form of hooliganism," the CEV said on its website.

CSKA said on Friday they would not appeal.
